If I were stuck in Mexico, watching my wife and children starve, and all I had to do was get across the border to find work, (even hard manual labor) to get the money to feed them, you bet I'd do the exact same thing that the illegal Mexicans are doing.

El Presidente Fox needs to get himself together and actually do something to make his country less of a shithole, instead of crying like Nancy Kerrigan to American Presidents about relaxing immigration control. Fucktard... >:(

The National Research Council, part of the National Academy of Sciences, found in 1997 that the average immigrant without a high school education imposes a net fiscal burden on public coffers of $89,000 during the course of his or her lifetime. The average immigrant with only a high school education creates a lifetime fiscal burden of $31,000.8

80% of cocaine and 50% of heroin in the U.S. is smuggled across the border by Mexican nationals. Drug cartels spend a half-billion dollars per year bribing Mexico's corrupt generals and police officials, and armed confrontations between the Mexican army and U.S. Border Patrol agents are a real threat. There have been 118 documented incursions by the Mexican military over the last five years.

Illegal aliens have cost billions of taxpayer-funded dollars for medical services. Dozens of hospitals in Texas, New Mexico Arizona, and California, have been forced to close or face bankruptcy because of federally-mandated programs requiring free emergency room services to illegal aliens. Taxpayers pay half-a-billion dollars per year incarcerating illegal alien criminals.

Immigration is a net drain on the economy; corporate interests reap the benefits of cheap labor, while taxpayers pay the infrastructural cost. FAIR research shows "the net annual cost of immigration has been estimated at between $67 and $87 billion a year. The National Academy of Sciences found that the net fiscal drain on American taxpayers is between $166 and $226 a year per native household. Even studies claiming some modest overall gain for the economy from immigration ($1 to $10 billion a year) have found that it is outweighed by the fiscal cost ($15 to $20 billion a year) to native taxpayers."

I used to be a scaffold builder and the normal wage in my area was 17.50 dollars when I started. Very few mexicans were on the job. My last shutdown the wage was 12.00 dollars and 3/4 of the workers were hispanic. Couldn't afford to do it anylonger so I went to work in the woods as a sawhand for 135.00 dollars a day. In three years time most of the crews were hispanic and the pay went down to 75 dollars a day. I couldnt afford to do that work any more either. Both were hard labor intensive jobs that were filled and worked by Americans that got paid a decent wage, now those fields are being field by illegals not because Americans wont work, we just don't live 14 to a house and send all our money to another country. We use it to support our families here, pay our taxes, and everything else that is asked from us.

I'm sitting here at work and as usual I'm watching the Discovery Channel. The subject of the program is South Americans trying to make their way to the USA. The South Americans must travel through Mexico but there is a problem. It is against the Mexican law to help anyone that comes across the border (that's the southern border of Mexico) headed north. The Mexicans can be fined or imprisoned if they help by giving a little money or even a bottle of water to those on the way to the USA.

Personally... I don't blame the Mexicans, coming across the border, for the new sub-poverty class of workers in this country, so I don't support the actions of the person in the video.

Basically, businesses in the US claim to need immigrant workers (from low-end, less than minimum wage workers to "skilled" laborer positions) to remain "profitable". The government has even voiced support for immigrant workers on US soil because of this, yet they continue to have the INS periodically round up a small percentage of these workers to ship back to Mexico. So, for the price of a huge beaurocracy and a few hundred bus tickets home for these unlucky few, the government provides a level of fear in these workers, supporting the lower wages that they have to accept, and therefore keep American businesses "profitable". They don't seem to care that in the process, American workers must accept lower wages to remain competitive in the job force, and pay yet higher taxes for the welfare that goes to support these workers and their families. The alternative is out-sourcing to India... But then again, is that really worse?

Ive been out a few days so let me get this straight we are actually arguing that someone who tried to turn LAW BREAKERS over to the proper authorities is the bad guy and the LAW BREAKERS are the victims? So let me get this straight arrest the only one willing to do the right thing. I will agree he is an Idiot, but with a few more idiots like him we may again control the borders. I think we do need immigration, and work visa's, But to condem an American Citizen for doing something more of us need to do is ludacris. The INS also needs to be held more accountable, When They are presented with Illeagles they should take them into custody and send them back. If they do not do it they should start there new occupation at McDonalds. The last time I checked Citizens arrest is still legal in all 50 states, and Being an Illeagle alien is actually a felony, and the pansies want it to be punishable by free health care and free education. Makes sense to me.

The entire INS should have been revamped after 9/11, and yes, the borders should have been INSTANTLY sealed, and rather than heading off to Iraq, we should have focused on Afghanistan and hunting down bin Laden, and used the National Guard to patrol our borders, especially the southern border, by air and land.

The whole situation stinks, all the way around, and at this juncture in history, there are no easy answers. *sigh* :-X :-/

It's amazes me that the same Americans's that are so ga-ga over homeland security - fighting wars/sacrificing troops, playing world police, enduring rigorous security checks at airports, etc., etc., etc. have no concern over our porous borders and the flood of illegals into this country.

We're just building our little homeland security house and claiming the foundation isn't necessary.

I have no sympathy for illegals from any nation. Round em' up, send em' home and don't let em' back in.

The INS is wasting $$$illions of tax dollars and not serving a legitimate purpose. - Might as well round up the INS employees and send them along with illegals to their homeland.

Even with all of that it doesnt excuse the FACT these Border crossers/Illeagles Are working tax free, Benefiting from our taxes paid, And are breaking the law, Daily. If I where to commit a felony a day I would be listed on FBI most wanted list, even if I didnt phisically hurt anyone. They need to as able take all the illeagles back to there home country and close the borders. There are alot of legal ways to enter the country and I have no problem with anyone wanting to enter in any of those many ways.

Of course not. I have no illusions about this. Law isn't my forte but common sense is. In my world he wouldn't be arrested either. He needs your boot though. Life sentences, without the possibilty of parole, were imposed today on 5 men accused of attempting to build decks and feed their families. Their actions were deemed hideous by the local chapter of the KKK.

For being a felony, illegal entry into the US is not punished very well... Free ride home, unless you're Islamic, a suspect in another felony, or on a watch list. Personally, I agree with Jonny... We need better border patrols. The US should dissolve ~~the INS~~ whoever is in charge of preventing illegal aliens (It appears as though the INS was already dissolved into multiple DHS divisions. As far as I can tell, the Office of Detention and Removal of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency of the Border and Transportation Security division of the Department of Homeland Security are the ones responsible for removing the aliens within US borders) and spend the money on more border patrol agents (US Customs and Border Protection) and better border surveillance equipment. Also, the US needs to be more active in finding the US companies who willingly violates the law, and make sure the punishment is enough to deter the company from doing it again (Some other office in the ICE... Probably the Office of Investigations). Then again, that would be counter-productive to the mandates I mentioned in my first post, so I don't expect to see any of it anytime soon.

PS... Perhaps, if the guy in the pickup is serious about stopping illegal aliens, he should join the Minutemen (http://www.minutemanhq.com/). The government should be paying the Minutemen for doing the government's job.
