Title: I will Servive! :-) Post by LadyElaine on Jul 2nd, 2005, 8:43pm I got over my mad spell about my Clusters. When I was Chronic July was my worst time, and November. Chronics have cycles too. I know I had six months out of the year that was not as bad as some months. Its nice to be episodic, except when they come back, its a big disappointment I use to run and hide in the bathroom or outside on the patio. I even use to go get in the car, especially if it was real cold. I always tried to protect my family from having to deal with it. One thing I have learned from friends here. I don't have to go hide. I don't have to fear going on with my life. So I do just that. I do prefer to be alone when I have a cluster. I get up and I take care of myself. I like coffee after the attack I always make coffee and have it ready to just push the button. While its making I take a cold shower, if I am lucky that will abort it or at least take the pain down. Then I fix my coffee and get me some ice. If its real bad I rock and go outside on the porch. Some times I walk the yard it depends on the pain how high it is. About 30 minutes afterwards I go back to bed and sleep. I do sleep with two big pillows so my head is up. I don't know why but it makes a difference. I usually wake up tired but after a few cups of coffee I am a wake and ready to go. I also take Excedrin Tension Headache pill they help the soreness I get in my neck. Plus with coffee they help wake me LOL. I plan my day just like I usually would. I think I was so wiped out Friday because I was upset they were back. It kept me from thinking, plus I panicked and we all know that makes them worst. Just like this week end. Some friends have asked us to go the lack. I plan to get up and go. I plan to have a good time. I choose not to let clusters take over my life. I use to let life pass me by and I blame clusters. I was the only one to blame cause I gave clusters the power to take over. I am so Thankful for all the people who taught me to live again. Bob P, Ted, DJ, Margi, Drummer, Bonnie and Warren woods, Ken Hubner, Doug L, and Doug H. Jack Boyd, Paco, Barbara D, Jackie, Jean, Linda H, Bob G, Todd, Margaret, Kip, Jonny , Ree, Karla, Leesa and Dave, Dave Edmond, Sean, Ueli, Svenn, Terry S, Chuck, Charlie, Billy and there are more I guess that is one of the reasons that the old timers mean so much to me. I have also learned a lot from the new people that joined us, Kim, Cathy, Carol, Darleen, Frank, Big Dan, Slammy, Ozzy, Bruce, Thomas,Nana, Bill L and Deb, Little Debbie, on and on I can't name you all . I learned from all of you some trick and believe me I use them all especially when I don't have the meds. The most import thing I learned was they won't kill me they can't control my life unless I let them. I know if I can't take the pain. I have friends just a phone call or email away that will support me. I also know I can vent and any one of you will understand. No one can hold my hand, noone can be here for me when I have a attack. No one can take the pain away. I do know your here afterwards, and I know what ever I say you will understand. That's what's important! There are others that know and that matters. DJ thanks for giving me my life back, thanks for making this place,a place I can come no matter what. This is much more than just a support group for clusters. Thanks for letting me not only cry here but laugh here. Because of each other we will all SERVIVE !!!! I am going to play Shanghai then sit on the porch awhile and listen to some oldies but goodies then to bed. Tomorrow I am off to the lake and do some camping and fishing !!! To hell with the clusters they don't run my Life :) |
