Title: Required Reading... Post by Donna_D. on Jun 29th, 2005, 8:39pm As this years convention gets closer, I got a little sentimental (no, Chuck, not MENTAL) about last years convention. I started reading threads and remembering, laughing and crying, and trying to find the right words as to WHY anyone should attend ANY function with a bunch of people with messed up heads ;) I will tell you what it is... Simply being in the company of those who understand, a true bond, cemented by pain. Sufferers finally being able to DO something other than send vibes on a message board. Supporters leaning on each other for strength. Learning more about our condition, trading tips and tricks, learning the newest breaking medical news, and feeling like you have finally "come home" For those of you who have yet to make up your mind about attending this years convention in Dallas, read some of the posts at these links...If you STILL don't decide to come...PM me...else I will be at your door with my troll poking stick! For all the reasons posted above.....I will be :) To add...... Being a sufferer(I hate that term) certainly is not as rough as watching one get hit.....I have been there too and :'( :'( It certainly does make you appreciate those who stand by our sides a hell of a lot more! I truely would love to come and meet someone who suffers as well but unfortunatly that is the weekend before my RN school begins. I will have all of you in my thoughts and hope to someday get to attend a convention and meet all the wonderful people that I race to the computer to chat with. I started my job this past week, and I didn't have a schedule until then, so I was unable to plan ahead to get to Dallas this year.
