It is with a broken heart that I report to you the loss of my dear Dad Buddy McGovern.  He took his last breath at 11:13 am  yesterday June 20th and I had the remarkable gift of being there when he went to Heaven....
I cannot tell you or express to you the sadness I feel and I only want to say to you I'm sorry because I know you were all rooting for him too.

My Dad will watch the next Redsox game with the great Bambino~~

Aw, Ree, I'm so sorry to hear this.  BIG hugs.   :'(

You're right though - it is a remarkable gift to be with a loved one when they pass, isn't it?  I hope you were able to find peace from sharing his transition with him when he was called Home.

Know that I am only a phone call away, Ree - anything you need.

Our prayers are with you and your family in the coming days as you prepare to celebrate Bud's life.  And do celebrate it, my friend, you are so blessed to have been his daughter.

love,
Margi & Mike

Soar, Bud, Soar!

Ree, hon, you have my deepest sympathies.  I only hope that my kids will be half the supportive and loving person you have been to your father.

Hugs to you and your family.

Mike

What do you say

What do you say to a dear cherished friend
When you hear of a loss they've endured
Words seem so futile and inadequate
Yet you feel that they must be reassured

So you rattle your brain and search your heart
To come up with something profound
You scribble some words that you hope will make sense
And will help your friend not feel so down

So to you, my dear Ree on this sad sad day
I pass this thought on as I sigh a deep breath
As you lay him to rest and think dear Bud
Celebrate his life - don't mourn his death

My condolences to you and your family.  I am sure he treasured the love you gave him every day, and especially at the end.  He is now carrying that love and devotion with him for eternity.

Remember, he is ALWAYS with you, in your heart, and right next to you.

As we said at my mother's funeral: Don't dwell on the sadness of missing him, rather revel in the joy and good times you were able to share.  Laugh at his jokes. At his quirks.  At all the times you had together.  Celebrate his life.  "Remember the time he did .. .. .. "  "Remember when he said .. .. .. "

All my love and heartfelt sorrow at your loss.

Chuck

Ree, my deepest sympathy. I know he was a wonderful man, and I know he loved you deeply.
To say he is out of pain is acknowledging there is a hole in your world. In time, that hole will remain, but it will be filled with fond memories which will bring a smile to your face.
Remember, he is NOT gone.....he is everywhere.

2:40AM I have been putting together pictures for a collage at the funeral home.... this is the saddest of times.  The only time I smiled today was when I pulled up and saw both of my sons on the front steps and walked in to hear my daughter playing her guitar.... life is a miracle..... I wrote this for my dads service....
My father walks to Heavens gate
And leaves his cane behind
Pains fire has now lost its burn
He is now clear of mind

The fear he had, now cast aside
Past family draws near
For now Dad sits inside God’s heart
And he is waiting there

A gentle man of stature
With eyes of the greenest sea
I’ll find those in my daughter now
And who she’ll grow to be

A funny man so witty
So quick to steal a smile
I’ll see now in my nieces
Though it might take a while

His love for sports, his zest for life
My nephews and my sons
Are strong and just examples
Of a “Grampy” that they love

The pride he held for all his kids
His brothers and his bride
Made my dad the man he was
With a heart so big and wide

So, if your looking for my dad
No longer here I trust
He’s left himself in little bits
In every one of us.

I love you all...
