Title: Re: Hey Computer geeks Post by Kirk on Jun 17th, 2005, 6:56pm You're trying to run a DOS (DOS Shell) game on MS NT 5.0. MS doesn't like that ya naughty boy. They had to rename NT 5.0 W2K because they did'nt have a W2K to sell. Just one of those marketing things. |

Title: Re: Hey Computer geeks Post by Charlie on Jun 17th, 2005, 7:07pm Off topic but is there any way to permanently KILL forever WPs automatic double spacing for addresses, etc? I don't mean for each writing. I want it dead and buried, never to be seen again. I don't need "help" from WP. I like making the damn decisions. I'm tired of yelling at the screen. Title: Re: Hey Computer geeks Post by Kirk on Jun 17th, 2005, 7:21pm I'd take a shot at it Charlie. But I'm not sure what you mean by WP. Corel's Word Perfect? Or something else? |

Windows 2000 is not a home user OS. Was never supposed to be anyways. Like Kirk said, It was basically just NT version 5. The home user OS's went from Win98SE to WinME to WinXP Home Edition. Win ME sucked too majorly bad to actually keep it installed on a computer. I went from 98SE to W2K (I don't do that much in the way of games) to WinXP Pro. Of the XP's, Pro is the only way to go. IMHO |

You need a OS that uses DOS, like Win9X, me. or get DOSBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/information.php?page=0) It even will run in Microsoft Windows NT. Opus/Paul |

Title: Re: Hey Computer geeks Post by Drk^Angel on Jun 18th, 2005, 10:20pm You could try to run it in compatibility mode... But then again, compatibility mode didn't work any better on 2K than it does on XP. Maybe if ya install Linux, it'll work under wine... PFDAN............................ Drk^Angel |
