Title: Need some doctor info Post by Peppermint on Jun 17th, 2005, 12:31pm Can someone point me to where i can find the area on this site here (I think I'm not looking in the right place), where i can find a clusterheadache-knowledgeable neuro in Queens or Manhattan. If you have any info, (for that matter anywhere in the metropolitan area just in case) it will be highly appreciated. Anyone ever had a spinal tap when your doctor thought it was clusters? I might have read that somewhere on here before.. Pep |

Title: Re: Need some doctor info Post by Peppermint on Jun 17th, 2005, 1:22pm Thanks Gator ! I thought there was something on this site.... HOWEVER, I know there are some clusterheads in the nY area also that might be able to make a personal reference. Its always better to get a recommendation, just so you know what the doc is like beforehand... my personal opinion though. I lost justin's number, I know he's in manhattan, don't know if his neuro is any good. I'll check the OUCH site though, I must be fried because I totally forgot about that - imagine that. Appreciate your response, PF to you. |

Title: Re: Need some doctor info Post by Peppermint on Jun 19th, 2005, 12:05pm Cootie-doll, no, its not an epidural, it was a spinal tap, and the doctors botched it to boot. Left a "leak" or something to that effect which caused a lot of problems. By the way, it wasn't on me either. I haven't been getting headaches Karla, but I have a childhood friend who's mother mentioned to me that she had been diagnosed with clusters. That was really a ghastly thing to hear, no offense. I'm told her grandmother on her father's side has them too, which might explain some stuff about her father. Not really sure if that's the case (that she has CH), that's why I'm asking about a "Cluster-Knowledgeable" doctor in our area. Her neuro sounds like he wants to help but he did that spinal tap after diagnosing her so I'm guessing he is not schooled on them. She is taking Topamax though, plus prednisone and Di-oxy-something (can't remember the name) whichI never heard of for clusters, and having read a ton of stuff on here, well, did I miss something? That list in the section Gator gave me, none of those docs are coming up under my insurance doctors but that could just be because of my insurance. Anyway, that's why I'm asking. I KNOW there are some people out there in this big-ass city because I've seen them on the board talking about being from here. Haven't seen much of a response though, so I am thinking it will be a trial-and-horror case until she gets a keeper. I'm really hoping that's not the case. Thanks you guys. Come on NYC people, cut a woman a break here please. Pep |
