Title: Re: a new toy Post by maffumatt on Jun 14th, 2005, 10:38pm yes its a cutnose switcher locomotive, they are heavier than otr engines for more pulling power, and are lower (geared) for faster pulls. Its like going from a Volkswagon Bug to a 3 ton truck. I know I am foaming a little here, but I don't care. I am excited about it. |

Title: Re: a new toy Post by BlueMeanie on Jun 16th, 2005, 7:10pm Hey Maff, Nice ride ya got there. That brings back memories of years ago. I used to teach maintenance and repair of those GM EMD 645's and Fairbanks Morse engines. Those GM's are about the best you can get for a locomotive. Easy to overhaul and very dependable. Blow the horn for us next time yer rollin' down them tracks !!!! |
