Title: Yo! Post by Rock_Lobster on Jun 11th, 2005, 5:44pm How goes it all? Been wildly busy. Lots of business travel + that house, which I am really tired of. Recent house pics: http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=yge5tll.4onpppe5&x=0&y=-o8l47n Many of the window cutouts are missing, and the columns on the front porch have yet to be framed. The front door that shipped from Indonesia finally arrived, about 6 weeks late but at the perfect time. Site was www.gatesdirect2you.com. Custom wood & iron doors for about the same price as the better fiberglass ones. Two weak pictures of it in the album. Now picking picking picking... tile, hardwood, fireplaces, cabinets, audio system... it stopped being fun a month or two ago... heh heh heh! Lobstah |

Title: Re: Yo! Post by Jonny on Jun 11th, 2005, 5:48pm Never build a house unless you or a family member is building it for you. Words of wisdom ;;D |

Title: Re: Yo! Post by Rock_Lobster on Jun 11th, 2005, 5:53pm Heh heh... my father-in-law is GC'ing it and doing the electrical. Buddies are doing the hvac & plumbing. Other friends are doing the framing. So about 70% is being covered by friends & family, plus the old coot gets there before anyone arrives and is the last to leave everyday... no shortcuts allowed ;;D |

Title: Re: Yo! Post by Opus on Jun 13th, 2005, 6:07pm Looks nice Wrokk, It should be done in a couple of days, right? Just make sure those front doors stay locked until the house it done. Personally I would have then installed until the last day, let some plywood take all the dings, rock, mud and paint splatters, but hey, that's just me ;;D Opus/Paul PS, make sure you CAT5, coax, and maybe fiber to every room from the basement, or you will regret it later. Even better would be a 1" pvc from the basement to a box in every room and a couple of 2"ers from basemant to the attic just in case. |
