My daughter Heather and (whats his name that she is married to is having a baby).
I told all three of my Girls when they were expecting their first baby, and they were. I seem to know these things before they do. I woke up in the middle of the night last week and called Heather and told her she was going to have a baby. She just laughted. I got the call yesterday. I can only predick the first baby not the second and thired. I got to work on that :-)

I feel Old ! Just call me granny !!! :-)
Just don't call me what whats his name does ::)

Congratulations! And that is some uncanny instinct that you have. I told my mom when she was pregnant with my sister, that's when I was 4. She didn't believe me either.

Congratulations, E!! Please tell Heather I said Hi and give her a hug for me. I wonder if she remembers me? I remember many nights on ICQ chatting with Heather.

How's she feeling? Is she pukey/tired?

I'll make a prediction here. I'm betting that once this grandbaby arrives you'll be changing your mind about the baby's father. The guy that was once the idiot that your daughter fell in love with will suddenly be the smartest guy in the world because he's helped to create a beautiful grandchild for you! Trust me on this one, honey. ;)

LMAO now now, TS, this is the father of your grandchild you're speaking of!

Sometimes we look at our children's "spouses" and wonder what the hell they were thinking. The saving grace here is that WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH THEM and maybe, just maybe, they will LET US BABYSIT. :)

I'm sure our moms went through the same things we do. In fact I'm sure of it for my mom and my ex. I'm amazed she was able to keep her mouth shut about him, actually! But she did and she ended up getting a beautiful granddaughter out of the union and, subsesquently, a gorgeous great-grandddaughter. I think she knew in her heart that my first marriage wouldn't last so she was just patient and quiet about it all and then, once we split - BOY did she have a lot to say!

So be patient, be there for Heather, be non-judgemental and enjoy that grandbaby that's coming!

p.s. I almost forgot, next time Heather and hubby are over to visit you, just quietly slip a lil Ex-lax into his coffee. ;)

I am so excited I can't wait for the first Christmas after the baby is born. Here is the Christmas letter I plan to send them. You know how I like to plan ahead :-)

Dear Wonderful Daughter and That Person You Married,

Merry Christmas to you, and please don't worry. I'm just fine considering I can't breathe or eat. The important thing is that you have a nice holiday, thousands of miles away from your ailing mother.

I've sent along my last ten dollars in this card, which I hope you'll spend on my grandchildren. God knows their father never buys them anything nice. They look so thin in their pictures, poor babies.

Thank you so much for the birthday flowers, dear Girl. I put them in the freezer so they'll stay fresh for my grave. Which reminds me -- we buried Grandpa last week. I know he died years ago, but I got to yearning for a good funeral so Aunt Berta and I dug him up and had the services all over again. I would have invited you, but I know that man you live with would have never let you come. I bet he never even watched that videotape of my hemorrhoid surgery, has she?

Well sweet girl, it's time for me to crawl off to bed now. I lost my cane beating off muggers last week, but don't you worry about me. I'm also getting used to the cold since they turned my heat off and am grateful because the frost on my bed numbs the constant pain.

I've done that before.. ex was a train driver through the channel tunnel and needless to say he didn't make it.. ;;D

Maybe a better way would be to drop hints as to where the money is buried in the back yard. I bet that would bring him running. At least that way, you'd get to see the Heather and the grandbaby, right?

When you hand him the shovel, make sure to let him know that all the land mines were deactivated YEARS ago. ;)

Cheer up, TS - things could always be worse. Helen's right - these things come in threes. Just thank God it's Heather that's preggers and not you. Now THEN you'd have some 'splainin' to do, Lucy! :o

I have a better idea E. After the little darling is born - we declare BOTH parents incompentent and TAKE the baby and raise it like it's supposed to be raised!!! What the heck do parents know about raising kids anyhow -- it's GRANDPARENTS who have the EXPERIENCE (and PATIENCE).

I'm working on commitment papers for BOTH my little Caleb's parents. Son is crazy and what's her name that he married is nutz... Caleb is better off at Granny's any time. Papaw agrees with me..

Congrats kid -- and the 'gray' hair is PREMATUE... hold that thought!

Hi Barbara,
All joking aside. I don't know the details about your grandchild. I have no reason to even think about removing one of my grandchildren from their parents. Just cause I don't care for my son-in-law doesn't mean he will be a bad father, it doesn't mean he is a bad husband. The only way I would intervine is if the children were being abused or I felt my daughter was being abused. My son in law and I bumped heads a time or two. We have a unsaid agreement between us, he stays in FL and I stay in Ga. Heather comes to visit or we go visit her ! He don't put his nose in our afairs with Heather and we don't put our nose in their afairs.
It keeps all of us happy this way.
I am sorry to hear about you having to do that Barbara hope it works out for the children. Cause they are the important ones. I will be saying a prayer.

The rest of you, thanks for the replys and emails. Thanks for joining in on the joking around part.
