Title: I Have Something Very Heavy To Consider Here
Post by Carl_D on Jun 6th, 2005, 7:37pm
I have been staying with my friend Maggie during the day, and then staying all night right across the hall at Phil & Sunny's. Well, Phil and I go back pretty far; in fact he even posted here a few times during my darkest period after becoming chronic. He is also one of the few people who can see an attack coming on, just before I feel it sometimes, or as it is starting.
Anyways, They have seen what I am going through with everything and the other night they asked me if I wanted to move in. I didn't take them seriously at first, but then Phil and I talked about it this morning. I would have to put some of my stuff in storage, but wouldn't have to get a big storage locker (I think the one I would need runs $35 a month. ) I have 30 days to think about this, as I already paid rent for the month at my apartment, and should have the power on in a day or two.
I am going to talk with Phil and Sunny about it some more tonight. This would help me on so many levels. First off, I'd be living with one of my best friends, as well as having another one of my best friends next door. Not to mention I am friends with the peeps upstairs as well, and know everyone in the building. I also found out I know the landlord here. Turns out to be one of my old party buddies from High School. I will also be able to catch up on my bills and save for a car. Oh, and Anthony has a studio upstairs he said I can use anytime - and his recordings sound good too. So that would solve the dilemma of trying to get some music on disc. And did I mention - if I move in next month, when I get my deposit, I WILL BE IN DALLAS! I'd be able to cover the trip!
I also have to mention that a friend of mine who was old bandmates with my old guitarist, he has some recording gear and needs to get a 3 song demo together and asked if I would help him. I told him no problem. So I will have some music recorded within the next few months to be sure. Oh, and Phil just won a Fostex 8 track digital recorder. What is weird is, I have been on the verge of giving up music alltogether, and now I have all of these possibilities opening up.

I'm still trying to let all of this sink in. This would help me out alot living here, and they are always on the go, so I can help keep the place clean. I have already gone through attack after attack since I've been staying here, and Phil and I are helping Sunny to understand, since this is all new to her. They have also seen the effect of the Fibro and how much pain I have been in, and they have been very cool about it. I keep pinching myself to make sure I'm not dreaming this - but then again if I am dreaming this, at least I'm not having a nightmare like usual. So yeah, heavy things to consider.

Peace,
Carl D

Sometimes the stars align,
and your contacts pull you to a new job,
just in the nick of time.

Everyone always tells me,
"one day at a time"
but whne you have ADD
it's difficult to let go and stop thnking.

Maybe the music will surround you,
fill your life and keep you too busy to worry.
That would be a good thing, right?

Terrific Carl. Just terrific.

Take up the offer. You can always move out. I like the way you sound when you write about it.

Don't miss it.

That sounds like a no-brainer, Carl.

Go for it dude!  And maybe write up a special song to let Sunny know how much you appreciate.  You've got that special talent to do it.  And not many people have it.

Stay cool!

Carl

This is a situation that has been opoened up for you and stop second guessing.  After everything that has heppened you need to take advantage of this and take this time to get ahead.  Let them help you, it shows that they really want to.

Love and light

This sounds like a chance of a lifetime to get in a better situation and get caught up financially.  I say go for it.  Just make sure any expectations are out on the table beforehand.  Y'all need to seriously discuss what is to be expected from you as far as contributing to the household and any house rules.  Shit like this can strengthen or totally destroy a friendship.  They all sound like good people.  Things should go just fine.

Good luck and keep us posted my brother from another mother!
