That video may be the way a doctor does it in a hospital, but that is not the way I have witnessed a moyle (a specially trained Jewish person {not neccesarily a Rabbi} to do the circumcision) do it at a briss (a service in which the circumcision is performed, with witnesses, on the eigth day of life.  - - Crudely called a circumcision party.).  Nor did they use the same device shown on the video.  The ones that I have been to, the moyle took some gauze, tied a knot in it, dipped it in wine, and then gave it to the baby to suck on.

Still glad I don't remember it being done to me!

My Jewish friend invited me to both his son's briss.  It was done the way you said.  They dipped this gauze-like thing in wine and the baby sucked on it...the procedure took less than 45 seconds...this guy was taking his sweet ass time.

I watched my son's circumcision, they simply pulled up the forskin and clipped off the excess, took about 15 seconds. Covered the wound with a condom like device. Did he scream and yell, yes, but he was doing that anyway. No BIG DEAL. The technique shown in this video is a joke.
