Title: Long weekend
Post by ExplodingEyeBall on May 26th, 2005, 2:22pm
It's that time again. Memorial day weekend.

I hope everyone has a PF long weekend and a great time of relaxing and.... Well what ever you do on long week ends.

I've packed up the camper, put a hitch on the new truck, replaced the bent coupling on the camper and rewired the light harness on the camper. We leave Friday to go to Chain 'O Lakes campground in N/E Indiana.

You all have fun while I dodge raindrops, tornadoes, and raccoons at the campground.

Seeya on Tuesday.

Pat

Well...as soon as I get my act together, I'm headed back to the city by way of King of Prussia - I am taking a tour of the apartment complex I may move to in August.

At any rate, I'll be back home tomorrow with more of my junk.

As for the weekend, Dave (in case you hadn't figured it out... Dave0377 is my boyfriend) is taking me to the following restaurant on Saturday night:
http://www.dolcerestaurant.com/index2.html

Then we're headed to Ocean City, NJ to stay on the boardwalk through Saturday night to early Monday morning.  He has to work Monday, and my dad is bringing a UHAUL to Philly to move everything out of my apartment, so it's going to be an early morning on Monday!

But anyways...that's our weekend!! :)

Carrie :)

I have a BBQ on Sunday, and will be attending a memorial for local Marines killed in action this last year on Monday.  Please take a minute out of your weekend and say a prayer or think for a moment about all those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

I'm sure this will be covered by the group I'll be with this weekend. Our first campout every year is on Memorial Day weekend with a group of about 10 to 15 families from our Church.

I have to work this weekend, as usual. So
we did some camping in Rapid City, South Dakota last weekend. Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, Blackhawk, Crazy Horse Monument, Wall Drug....they're all close by.

The camping sucked though...........no in-room coffee pot.

WOW!!!  I don't know HOW I am going to make it thru this busy weekend!!!  I am stressing about it!

First, I have to wake up, get out of bed, and get something to eat.  Then I have to decide wether to watch broadcast tv, or put on a movie.  If I do watch broadcast tv, what do I watch??  Or, if I decide to put on a movie, which one??

While going thru this trauma, I have to see the junk I have all around, and make a firm decision to straighten it up, some day.  THEN I have to watch all the dust, as it settles on my furniture, and make the decision to dust the place, maybe next month?

Then of course I have to eat AGAIN!  Then more firm decision making, and then eat AGAIN!  Then more trauma and choices, and then, in total exhaustion go to bed.

Then THE NEXT TWO DAYS are a repeat!!!!

AAARRRGGGGG!!!

How will I survive?

Chuck

Thursday night:
My wife and I agreed that I stay home on Friday to get things ready for the campout. She can't take the day off. Something about getting report cards ready for a bunch of 3rd graders.

Friday morning - 5:30 A.M. (While I'm trying to sleep in.):
I wake to the sound of Mackenzie crying. I as her whats wrong? She says, I can't open my eyes!!!  I check her out to find that she has a raging case of pink eye.

Friday early afternoon: Calling around franticlly (how do you spell that one?) to find a doc that will see our daughter. Her doc is out of town. I call my family doc and get s scrip but it's too strong for a 4 year old. That's OK. I'll save it for me and Becky. Im sure we'll need it.

Talked to an optometrist from Church and he sadi to bring her in. Got that taken care of.

Friday 4:35 P.M. I think everything is taken care of now. Becky just got back from work and I"m loading up the truck. I step out the door and I see a Highland detective car com up my dead end street. This usually means I'm getting a visit from one of my buddied on the P.D. but he doesn't stop at my house. I figure that they must be looking for someone.

4:40 P.M. I make another trip out to the truck and as I come out, I see a marked squad car come flying by and hear a helicoptor. I tell Becky to stay inside the house with Mackenzie.

4:45 P.M On yet another trip, I see a lot of unmarked cars on my street now and I'm getting paranoid. I usually recognize any law enforcement that comes down my street and I don't know any of these people. The helicoptors are now flying directly over my house and the woods accrossed the street.

A van comes flying up the street and comes to a screeching halt a couple doors past my house and backs up. It stops right in front of my house. A female FBI agent gets out with her gun holster un-clipped and her hand rasting on it. She's looking in the woods by my house.

I told Becky that it's time to leave for our camp out NOW.

I found later that there was a failed attempt at an armed bank robbery about 3 blocks from my house and there were 3 armed guys in the woods.

And so  just the beginning of the story of my first camp out of the year. Although we did have a pretty good time camping this story is very typical of how our vacations usually start.

I hope you all had an interesting week end.

Pat
