PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS...

                       DID YOU REALIZE THAT?

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.

Both their wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.

Both were shot in the head.

Both were shot in the presence of their wives.

The Secretary of each President warned them not to go to the theater and to Dallas, respectively.

Lincoln's Secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.

Both were succeeded by Southerners.

Both successors were named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.

Both have names with 15 letters.

Booth ran from the theater and was captured in a warehouse. Oswald ran from the warehouse and was captured in a theater.

To cap it all off, Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.



Is the above Coincidence or Fate???

It's all a conspiracy, the Liberals killed Lincoln and the Conservatives just returned the favor with JFK.  Tell your kids not to run for president in 2046, the Libertarians are watching.  ;)

The TV show Red Dwarf was the first to finally explain to me who was the man on the grassy knoll.

They go back and appear in the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas on November 22nd 1963 just as Lee Harvey Oswald is taking his shot at President Kennedy. They knock him out the window where he dies hitting the ground, preventing Kennedy's assassination.

To avoid being captured they go ahead a couple of years, however Kennedy's survival causes an alternate reality where he has been impeached out of office and the new president is controlled by the Mafia, allowing the Soviet Union to build several Nuclear Silos in Cuba. Fearing the Soviets will start a nuclear war, all the major US cities are deserted.

Lister goes to the airport which would have been renamed JFK Airport where Kennedy is being transported to prison. He persuades Kennedy to go back in time with them, and be the gunman on the grassy knoll, and shoot himself for the ultimate conspiracy theory. After restoring Earth's normal timeline, The gang return to Starbug. Of course they still haven't got any curries...

Lincoln - civil rights..? Only when he found himself facing desertion and refusal by the northern states citizens to volunteer and having lost to many battles, did he look to the anti slavery movement for support. A pure political move.

I just had to put that in there, didn't I. My ex is a teacher (history) and schools across this Nation are still based on the "Southern reconstruction" where all schools have to use books that are listed and "approved" or they face loosing their federal funding.

Lincoln was a real SOB.

I wonder what I just started here  ;;D

You forgot the drunkard part, don.  And he would have had a female passenger too.  And of course he wouldn't have notified the local constabulary until the next day.  ::)

Okay, then where were you on the morning on November 22, 1963? And, how did you cover up your ears and fluffy tail while you were standing on the grassy knoll, or was that possibly your cover, munching on the grass while everyone's attention was drawn to the passing motorcade. Yes, that must be it!

You've got me figured out. I was actually holding an umbrella while my parter was talking on a 2 way radio. The umbrella was hiding my big ears.

They were both hired hits. Hired by whom? The First Ladies. What History doesn't tell us is that both Mrs. Lincoln and Jackie O. Liked a Big Johnson, if you know what I mean. The Presidents were getting suspicious of their wives whorish behaviour and they got "WHACKED"
As for the other crap, just coincidence.

There is such a thing as the Lincoln-Douglas Debates in 1858. The War started in 1861, just about the time Lincoln took office. Lincoln debated Steven Douglas over expansion of slavery into the territories (that was the only hope for decades until Lincoln) as well as its elimination long before he had do deal with recruiting.

Here is part of his opening remarks at that 1858 Illinois Debate:

A house divided against itself cannot stand.  I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other. Either the opponents of slavery will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction, or its advocates will push it forward till it shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new, North as well as South.


A tip of the hat to a certain resident "non-schoolbook" informed from the board here who refreshed my history.
