Title: Remembrance Day
Post by sandie99 on May 15th, 2005, 6:50am
Today, Sunday May 15th, Finland is remembering all of those soldiers who died in action, fighting for our country and independence.

That includes of my grandmother's brothers, who died back in 1939 and 1940.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

While I help you remember yours it brings to mind those who have fallen for us. Our memorial day is May 30th. This date brings about very strong emotions and memories. Just believe me when I say I am not trying to take anything away from Finland’s fallen. They all have one thing in common. They all made the ultimate sacrifice.

I know I'm being idealistic here, but I do wish that one day it would end... :'(

You're all right. It never seems to end. Remembering is the least we can do.
