Title: Let me tell you a story.......... Post by Ruth on May 10th, 2005, 10:57pm This story is true :( In Febraury we lost contact with our two little grandchildren, they moved out of their apartment with Mom and she wouldn't tell us where she was at. [smiley=huh.gif] So two weeks ago, my Son that is in the Mental Hospital called and told me had gotten some papers from the child welfare office, stating that his children Jennifer and Dillon had been taken into protective custody on April 3rd. Mom and kids homeless, Mom on Meth and mentally unstable. Children were placed in a Foster home, they should have been sent here, but the Mom didn't tell them about us. Another letter comes with some hystory of Mother and Father and StepFather he is in prison for and sexual assault on a minor and is a registered sex offender. I have called everyday for 15 days now, and finally today a worker came out to certify us and our home, now it may take another two weeks for them to do all the checking. :'( So that is my story, Soon my grandbabies will be with me soon and you may her me hooping and hollering all the way to Maine. Thanks for letting me share this woe begone tale. Ruth |

Title: Re: Let me tell you a story.......... Post by Langa on May 11th, 2005, 8:20am So glad the kids will be coming to you soon. This story reminded me of the fight I had to put up to get my niece Crystal. Took over a month and she was in another state, but it was all worth it when they put her in my arms and I was able to take her home. As Helen said, we needs pics of the babes when they’re home. You know we’ll harass you until you post them. ;;D Langa |

Title: Re: Let me tell you a story.......... Post by Ruth on May 11th, 2005, 9:04am Thanks to you all for the messages. I am going to fight to keep them permanently. I have an Attorney already. I promise to send pictures, Dillon is 4 and Jennifer is 6 and a half. Two very sweet children, but aren't they all, and is sad that they have to get drug down with some really sick people. Thanks again. Ruth |

Title: Re: Let me tell you a story.......... Post by don on May 11th, 2005, 9:34pm Ruth I see this sort of stuff every single day at my job. Remember this. Kids are resilient little critters. With gentle handling and lots of love Dillon and Jennifer should be fine. Give em a hug for me will ya? Grandma has to take care of herself as well. |
