OK....you've heard sum of this before.....But does anyone know your rights when bein harrassed ? I am bein harrassed by this strange 'not kite rite' dude that bought a young dog from me about 4 or 5 days ago. It was my house dog.....he was running and jumping on us and playing when they took him !! Now they say his foot is broke but they have NOT A DIME to get any treatment. I think they tried to get into MY vets office and take the dog and PUT IT ON MY BILL....cuz I told them my vet could read the exrays and be more affordable and recommended simple slinting it to restrict movement for a week or so. The guy KEEPS CALLING ME over and over and over leaveing messages and won't stop !!! I'd never sell a dog that had an injury like that and lie. OK...so here's the other problem. Since they are flat stinking broke and used his disabilty check to buy the dam thing they have left this dogs foot GO AS IS for the 4 or 5 days possibly makein it worse if he is running around. I do not generally take animals back for health reasons for my group......esp when you don't know there conditions. A freind took a pup back and ALL his dogs and pups got very ill and is sumthing he can't get rid of now. This guy has a scarey aweful voice and jus yells in the phone who he is and he bought the chihuahua and to call him then hangs up and calls again over and over leaveing messages. I got so upset I was SHAKEING today and a second from CRACKING cuz of the wierdo's I have had to deal with the past week with my adds. I don't want the dog to suffer....but I don't want caught up in a swindle scam and I don't want the dog back now cuz of the condition it may now be in and being around other dogs also they have. I didn't get along with it and WHY I SOLD it and told them he needed some work. They haven't tried to wrap the foot or give baby asprin or anything. The guys wants 300 bucks. Or probly now wants to get his money back I dunno or my vet fix it and charge me. Could be a worse condition by now and who knows what they been doin to it ? WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO ??? Sorry for the whine.....I am bein careful not to blow up on the guy and handle it nicely cuz the guy could turn out to be a phyco who knows and come here and do sumthing. You just don't know anymore. But I am gettin freaked. Thanks for listeing.....that helped a bit.....and sorry to take up yer time with this crap. Dog daze'd Pam

could you take the dog back, refund the creep, and then keep the poor little wounded dog separated from your other dogs?

might be worth thinking about, just to get rid of the guy and to get the poor dog some relief.

Yikes Pam what a nightmare, I don't know the laws out there for harrasment but may be a call to the local police department may shed light on what to do, restraining order?

Ditto this Pam. If you DO end up giving him the money to pay for the vet bill, what will be next for this guy? Maybe you should call the police too and just see what your options are. Don't answer the phone anymore either. If he starts threatening you, tell the police, most definitly. Thats just NOT RIGHT.

I don't really want the dog back and the guy hasn't even mentiond I do that......first time he called he was tryin to act tough yelling who he was that he was 'Jon that bought the chihuahua'....and it needs a 300 dollar operation !!! I think he is after ME payin for his vet bills.....cuz he said NO VET will even touch the dog without money up front. He did mention it cost him 27 bucks for the office visit to have a vet LOOK at it....so how could he of gotten exrays like he said he did ? I think he lied about exrays.....cuz they are more then that and if a vet would not do no more then LOOK at the dog and avise him I DOUBT they did exrays for him KNOWING he can't pay and KNOWING he didn't have any money on him. So I am thinkin he is mad cuz the dog is hurt....he's broke....and maybe a chance he is hopeing I will feel so bad I will send him 300 bucks !!! Then I bet he gets that horn toad fixed with that money cuz they apparently can't afford that either then. I couldn't stand the dog.....too hyper and humping everything includeing thin air.....could not catch it when loose and told them he was like that and they agreed he needed fixed rite away. So am just thinking he is after me for cash.....ya know how people sue and then throw in EXTRA things they need along the way to compinsate there GRIEF of it all. He has LET THIS DOG GO tho and probly runnin round like a little terroist around there house rite now.....so am sure the foot is sorer and THEY FAULT which is adding to the cost he is after. Esp if it was to get bad enuff CUZ OF LETTING IT GO. Hey if he wants to argue about money THAT IS ONE THING.....but get the dog treated and then give me sum shit verses let it GO and bitch. Knowin it is maybe stressing who knows what it mite come down with.....lot of things dogs can get and infect an entire kennel due to stress....things that normally are kept at bay. I am afraid he will come back and leave the dog and take anouther one....he had his eye on one he wanted and said he'd leave me a couple dollars and not have the rest for a month or longer....and I said NO !!!! I don't want him here if no one is home either.....people creep me out Pam

Thanks Kev.....I am sure you Brad and jonny could scare this guy away.......arghhh.......can ya scare a phyco tho ??

what about having an SPCA officer (or animal services or whatever your local dudes are called) visit him, then? They can cite him for not getting the animal the care it needs AND they can also confiscate the dog if they feel it's being mistreated.
Cootie - you DON'T have to put up with this crap - but you CAN blow the whistle on him. I sure would, especially if the dog is in pain and not being tended to.

The customer's always right, but you've gotta just take the poor dog back. Next time have a sign up that says cash only or no third party checks. This guy sounds like a losser from the beginning, but you can't pay his vet bills just to get him off your case. Sounds like the dog needs to be rescued from him.

...or pay someone to break his foot and tell him to get lost!

Tell him that you know what to do if he won't stop calling and threatening. The cops will at least pay some attention.

They have no business owning a dog by the sound of it and I still think it's a scam but if I know you, it ain't gonna work. You can block him from calling too.

Keep ranting here and if you feel you must deal with it, be sure you never see him at all, only the dog and that you owe him nothing. SPCA should be in on it too.

Here's what you do, next time he call's pick up the phone and tell him that all your call's are now being recorded. Then tell him that he left your house with a healthy dog and if he continue's to harrass you, you will turn the recording's over to the police.

Get a cheap micro-cassette and you will be able to burn his ass.

And if Brad has a shotgun in the house....make the scumbag aware of that ;;D

Fight fire with fire sweetie and take care of the dog its not his fault. The guy is a creep and should have known better then to take an animal on if he doesn't have any money.

. Call the vet find out if indeed the dog is seriously injured. Then call police and notify them of the harrasment and possible animal cruelity on his part,for neglect!
