Title: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by Carl_D on May 4th, 2005, 10:29pm http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000929AJQ.01._PE21_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg Right now I am delighting myself with the new Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth, which released yesterday and is just amazing. It is pretty different from older NIN, which is another reason I love it. Trent Reznor can reinvent himself any way he wants and it works. Not everyone in music can do that. He is, in my book, a true music genius! Dave Grohl on drums kicks the album up a notch too. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0001LJC2K.01._PE7_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg Also been listening to the Muse - Absolution disc over and over. The band has been passed over by many as a Radiohead wannabe, but considering these guys are a three piece and the incredible writing and performance talents of Singer/ Guitarist/ Keyboardist Matt Bellamy, it is some incredible work. Some of it is way heavier than Radiohead, and some of it is much more classical in its composition. One track is even reminiscient of newer Phil Keaggy. The lyrical content is a struggle of faith throughout, which may be another reason I was so drawn to this disc. The songs "Apocalypse Please" "The Small Print" and "Thoughts of A Dying Athiest" are my faves. On the lighter side, Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000024YL.01._PE7_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg 8) Carl D |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by ExplodingEyeBall on May 5th, 2005, 10:00am My wife forced me to listen to a song called 'Daughters'. I actually liked it. After listening to the rest of the CD though, I've found that this guy can only sing about 6 notes. Every song is sung in the same key using the same few notes. I'll probably be listening to some Nora Jones soon too since my wife told me that she would like something from her for Mothers Day. Other than that, I'm listining to the same thing I listen to every day.... The cooling fans on the 60 or so servers that are constantly running about 3 feet from my desk......... Oh... And the voices in my head. ;;D |
