Title: OUCH Newsletter
Post by ClusterChuck on May 2nd, 2005, 11:22pm
OK, maybe foolishly, but I have volunteered to get out a newsletter.  DonnaD is WAY too busy with life, a new job, and setting up the convention.

I am asking that anyone that has an article, or story, or whatever, to submit, please email it to me.  I will be traveling across the country for the next two weeks, so I won't do much while traveling, but that gives you time to submit your story.  I will, whenever I can, check my email and this site.

I will be sending out some private requests to some people for articles I would like them to write.

This may not look as professional as some in the past, but I feel we need to get SOMETHING out.  Bear with me.  I have never done anything like this before.

Thank you!

Chuck

I feel like the only way OUCH can go on at this point is if people GET INVOLVED! With that said, I am volunteering myself and any services I may be able to offer to help OUCH. I have many skills with writing being my strong point. I will also be posting this on the OUCH website.

Peace,
Carl D

Don't worry Chuck. You'll do fine. Remember I'm also a writer so just ask if you need any help. I'd love to.
Actually, probably around 2 years ago someone had the very bright idea to have a section in the newsletter which described what the various OUCH chapters had achieved that year. We were going to call it "Ouch Around the World". I collected the info, editted it with a short story and forwarded it to the editor. I never saw anything printed (and I am an OUCH member) and often wondered what those who contributed from Canada,Italy, and the UK thought about the Kiwi who bothered them for info and then appeared to do nothing with all the input they so kindly sent. I may have deleted it from my HD  but you might be able to use it if the previous ed. can find it. Otherwise let me know and I'll look again.

I wholeheartedly agree that something is better than nothing and there must be others like me who have written stuff which has not got published. C'mon outta the woodwork guys and send it to Chuck.

Thanks Chuck.

Did Donna send the stories that were sent to her?

I did one of the newsletters years ago and it ain't that hard. Getting something out is the main point.

I'll see if I can find the story I did for the one about a year ago that never got out.

Not yet.  We were just talking yesterday, and I am traveling right now, so not a whole lot done yet.  I have sent out some requests, and so far, most have agreed to write something up.

That is a GREAT idea!  But, I would want all new stories.  After all, it has been two years (you say), and I am sure things have changed, or gotten further along by now.

Anything you can get together would be great!

And I just might be hitting you up for proof reading or editing or something!!!

Thanks, darling!

Chuck,

I will get more details to you as soon as possible.  Hirvimaki has indicated in the past that he is still willing to be graphics editor.  Hirv, you still interested?

Chuck, you said:

I'd like to submit a story.

It's all about this guy with polished finger and toe nails who put on a sarong and a thong and waltzed  into a bar disturbing 2 women who were playing pool and trying to raise money for OUCH.    ;;D

   New enough for ya?

Linda

I don't know when you are planning to put it out, but I'm officially attending the American Headache Society's 47th Annual Scientific Meeting from June 23-26 in Philly...so I'd be more than happy to write about that in this or some future newsletter edition!

Good luck!!
Carrie/Lizzie2 :)
