Title: VENT.......UGHHHHHHH!!!!! Post by BarbaraD on May 2nd, 2005, 9:49am Where the heck do they get CITY employees????? I've been fighting about my water bill forever. Even had the meter changed out. Then I started reading it right after THEY did. Got my bill today and it's 10 gallons (from Apr 26th) more on the meter this morning than my bill shows (from a week ago????). Do you think they may need a course in METER READING???? All of last year they said I used 200-400 gals a month. Then in January I used 10,000. Guess it's back to city hall and some yelling might take place. The only problem is that my son's mother-in-law is in charge of the damn dept. She's so "condensending" about things -- her people KNOW what they're doing. UGHHHH!!!! Oh well, guess the city manager and I are going to get real well acquainted this month. WE'RE going to read the damn meter DAILY and see just how much water I use. And if that fails -- there's always my dear classmate - the mayor. He loves to hear me scream. They're messing with my MONEY now............ and everyone knows you don't mess with my kids, my dog or my MONEY!!!! Ok, I feel better now. Hugs BD |

Title: Re: VENT.......UGHHHHHHH!!!!! Post by Gator on May 2nd, 2005, 10:15am You just have to love people who KNOW what they are doing. Some of these so-called "Civil Servents" drive me nuts. I had a couple pipes rust out under my house years ago and effectively had a 10,000 gallon swimming pool under the house. I showed them my past record of water use and explained that a pipe had broken and had been repaired. After showing them the receipts for the water pipe repair, they took the water in excess of my average use off the water bill, but still charged me for 10,000 gallons worth of sewer usage. Excuse me? The water didn't go down the sewer, it went under my house and into the ground. I tried to argue that and was told I could take my pick of which I wanted to pay - the water usage fee or the sewer usage fee. I ended up paying the sewer usage fee since it was very much less. The city of Enid, OK charged you twice for water - once for water in and once for water out through their sewer system - how fucked up is that? I'm glad I live out in the country now. I have a well, a septic tank and a field drain. My biggest problem these days is roots growing into the pipes and clogging up the system. Copper Sulfate several times a year fixes that. Sounds like you've got high friends in low places or is that low friends in high places. LOL Either way, good luck, Barb. |

Title: Re: VENT.......UGHHHHHHH!!!!! Post by BarbaraD on May 2nd, 2005, 5:24pm Well I'm glad to know I'm NOT ALONE (play on words there). Guess it's the same in any city. I check the meter this morning and this afternoon. We've used 50 gal of water today. How 'bout that. And this is an average day. THese people! Where the hell do they find them? Hugs BD |
