Title: Re: Love stories Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 28th, 2005, 6:20am I met Dave on a singles site online: http://www.americansingles.com I just wrote a whole lot about that and other relationship type stuff as I was up all night last night in my online journal. Link is below in my signature. However, americansingles.com DID have some creepy people out there. My first boyfriend from there, I dated for about 5 months, and he was AWFUL. Very mean, verbally abusive - I was dumb to stay with him. Then I went out with some guy just on one date who was from Denmark. He was pretty strange to say the least. (And no, not because he was from Denmark - he was just strange in general!) I wrote this in my online journal thing, but I initially clicked on Dave's profile I started contacting him because he was from my hometown and not too many people put that in as their location. Most people put Philly or Philly suburbs. Then we hit it off from there, and I can't say the rest is history, because we are still enjoying our relatively new and wonderful relationship! :) Gets better and better every day. :) Lizzie2/Carrie :) |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by Kim Y. on Apr 28th, 2005, 9:37am I met my husband while in the military. We shared the same barricks. He lived on the 1st floor and I the 3rd. !st time we meet I was out side sitting on the pinic table waiting for a friend to pick me up and he said hello to me. Well all I said was hello and he thought I was stuck up when all I really was, was extremely shy. He didn't give up though and one day he came knocking on my door to ask me out on a date. He was all decked out and about fainted when I opened the door and he asked me out to a movie and dinner. Sad to say it I had already had a date and turned him down but was quick to say maybe some other time. I closed the door and turned to my roommate and said oh my God he was to die for and I can't believe I turned him down. Needless to say I hate standing people up (not to mention the man I was going on a date with was a Drill SGT and some of his troops came to my clinic and he came in every day). Anyway the date was a flop and all he wanted was one thing blah blah blah blah. Didn't get it though [smiley=laugh.gif].... Stopped dating him and then my man asked me out again and now married for 7 yrs... Kim |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by Karla on Apr 28th, 2005, 5:00pm I transfered my Sr. year of High School to a private catholic school. I had only been there a couple of weeks when I saw this gorgeous looking man. I knew he was the one I just knew it. I asked him out after I heard him shooting his mouth out about not having anything to do that Frid. night to his friends. He looked at me and said I wouldn't go out with you if you were the last woman on this earth. That just made me the more determined. I had my girlfriend talk to him and arange a meeting where the two of us could talk on a free period. We hit it off instantly and became best friends. We were inseperable. We did everything together as a couple instantly. Within 3 months he had broke it off with 8 women he was seeing in various locations and asked me to marry him. It was Christmas eve 83. He actually got on his knees and gave me a dozan roses when he proposed with a poam he wrote. I feel for it. We have been happily married 20 years this past Oct. I love him more today than I ever dreamed possible. |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by Kris_in_SJ on Apr 28th, 2005, 9:03pm I was a senior year nursing student. He was the media coordinator for my school. It was taboo for staff to date students, but we saw each other in the hall one day and a lightening bolt struck us both. We had to stay a secret for an entire 6 months until I graduated. On our first date, we went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. Quite daring, don't you think? When we announced we were a couple on graduation night, not a single person was taken by surprise - including the school director. So much for secrets. 30 years later, we're alot older, but still together ... and still in love. Kris |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by medic1852 on Apr 28th, 2005, 9:10pm I met my wonderful wife at work. She was a rookie EMT and did not know much about the streets. I had been around the block in an ambulance more than once and I always had a thing for red heads. So I took Amy under my wing to show her the ropes of EMS and be her mentor. It started out really innocent at first. Then one day after work we were in the crew lounge and she had a rough day. I sat on the couch next to her and put my arm around her and then got my nerve up and decided to give her a kiss. I did not know if she was going to slap me or what. We had a big passionate kiss and then left for our homes. Over the next few months we started dating and then eventually moved in together. Once we lived together we shared everything. Then one day after I had worked she came to pick me up from work, and on the way home I was driving and I had a feeling she had something she wanted to tell me. At one of the 4 way stops I looked at her and said what is it you need to say. She paused and looked at me and then said "I am late" I looked at her confussed and not sure of what she meant and asked her what she was late for since I knew she did not work that night. Finnaly she said "I am pregnant" I looked at her and said well we will get married tomorrow. I did not ask her if she wanted to or not I just said we will get married tomorrow. She lost the baby a week later and we are still married and have 2 great little pigs and our coworkers and freinds all say we still act like newlyweds. I believe there is someone for everyone and I truely believe that I have found my soul mate. I love my wife Amy more than life it self. So this answers this post but I will go ahead and answer the other of fears while I am at it. The only thing that I can honestly say that I am affaid of is loosing my wife, someone harming my pigs or them dying, or my family (wife and pigs) thinking I am a failure or not being able to provide them shelter or food. Later all Rodger. |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by rumplestiltskin on Apr 30th, 2005, 2:58am Georgia and i met here at CH.com. I gave her shit and she came back swinging...china dolls don't impress me. The early bouts are in the archives. Eventually we went to chats and IM's. She was in NY. I was in Texas. She was 27. I was 50. I'd just ended a 23 yr marriage...she was a very *friendly* person. (fuckin censors...I said "she was a s l u t" )We tend to be irreverent and sarcasm. We were always pissin off Elaine and Toad...uh Todd...and gettin banned from their chat. We started a telephone/computer romance. I told her a million times she needed to find a young guy that wasn't such an not a very nice person (more fuckin censoring...it didn't used to be this way on DJ's old board....i said "a$$hole" )as i am. We finally met face to face at the OUCH crnvention in Atlanta. We tore the place up....a long time later she moved to Texas and....i just gave up tryin to talk sense into her...so we got married and our baby is due yesterday. Helluva ride. We started our own NPO to bring the Arts to disabled and disadvantaged kids...we are flat out starving as it struggles to exist. We ain't got no goddamned sense. I'm a periodic clusterhead. My clusters have been in remission due to alternative methods learned here. She has chronic CH and and a host of migraine variants...daily pain of one sort or the other....butt....Pregnancy has stopped her clusters and cut down the # of migraines. We have seen each other naked...we have seen each other in horrific pain. We refer to ourselves as The House that Pain Built. As much as I didn't want to tempt the hereditary theories about CH...she was just bound and determined to git herself knocked up. So there Walk in the sunshine den |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by Georgia on Apr 30th, 2005, 1:16pm I met my husband online on this message board! The very first time I saw a message from him, I was in love. It's so funny, because he says the same thing about the first post of mine that he saw. I instantly saw what a sweet, gentle, kind, loving man he was. He started posting sweet nothings to me, and I returned the love - right there in front of everyone. He started emailing me love poems that he had written just for me. In all my life, I had never met someone so romantic. We started calling each other and talked on the phone almost everynight until dawn. He begged me to meet him, to marry him, to be with him forever. He always told me I was "his soulmate". I had some reservations at first, since he was so much older than I and he lived so far away - but he just wouldn't give up on what he called true love. We met in person for the first time at a convention. There just aren't any words to describe what it was like to look into each other's eyes for the first time. We spent the entire evening making sweet love - he was amazing, gorgeous, tall, strong, sexy, and shockingly - RICH. He was so humble that he had never even mentioned how extremely wealthy he was. Everytyhing I had ever wanted in a man was right in front of me - offering to share his heart and his life with me! I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. I packed up everything I owned, left my hometown and family, and drove 3000 miles to finally live with the man of my dreams. He proposed soon after, on his knee, with roses, diamonds, and candlelight. The new 50,000 sq ft house soon followed the most romantic wedding ceremony I could ever have imagined. Life was beautiful. He wanted me to have his babies and I wanted nothing more than to give it to him. We became pregnant not long after, and our lives changed dramatically forever. I obviously had to stop taking all medications and alternative treatments for the sake of our unborn baby - although he protested this wildly. He didn't want me to be in any pain, I suppose. The weirdest things started happening though once I began to wean myself from the treatments I had been taking for my clusters. I could swear that I am knocked up, barefoot, dirt poor, living in a junk pile with a troll. My dear husband assures me it is just the hormones of the pregnancy making things seem so...different. He says everything will look perfect again once I can resume my medicine. Anyway, thats my love story. Ain't love grand? Peace and love, Georgia |

Title: Re: Love stories Post by Gator on May 4th, 2005, 2:45pm I was stationed at Misawa Air Base Japan at the time. Had just come back from Jungle School in the Philippines. A bunch of us from the Mobility team went to the NCO club to celebrate. A friend of mine brought his girlfriend who also brought a friend. They were sitting around the corner of the table from Dan and me talking 90 miles an hour. I nudged Dan and did the little talking gesture with my hand at the girls - making fun of them for talking so much. I got caught. By Jane. We spent the rest of the evening sneaking looks at each other and making occassional "generic" conversation, but we were both hooked. We started dating, went to lunch almost every day, spent hours on the telephone when we weren't together. We were married a year later and will be married 15 years July 18. |
