Very cool…I especially like the LSD one…as you can see from the line formation it is very synchronized and almost harmonius… ::)

Well apparently NASA did it. I used to want to work for NASA (it was my dream - I even still have an application to the space program around here somewhere!) - would sure have been fun to be giving drugs to spiders!

Honestly, I have no idea how it was done - but I can email my friend and see if she knows any more about it!

EXPLAINATION of the above.....um I couldn't get the pic and it said 'stealing bandwith makes baby jesus cry' in big black letters in a big white box "instead" of the pic you posted.....so that's where my shitty thoughts evolved from. "NOW" the picture shows up of the spider after checking back...........sumtimes I jus dunno..........

They put small amounts of the drug on a fly and then feed it to the spider. Almost all of these experiments are done on the family of spiders known as Araneidae (the orb weavers). This is a huge family composed of many strikingly different genaera. Spiders of this family make some of the most complex and beautiful webs. Biker Bob posted an excellent picture of a Black and Yellow Argiope (Argiopes aurantia) with it's characteristic 'zigzag strands' in the middle of the web.

I'm sticking to red fruit juice tonight. I drank all my code red mountain dew, and I don't want to be up all night, so I'm avoiding opening a can of Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper until at least tomorrow morning!
