What does she like?  Have you heard her mention anything particular that she's been wanting for a long time?  Does she like Jewelry?  Depends on her tastes...

What are you planning besides the gift?  Quiet dinner, weekend getaway? Party? Inquiring minds wants to know  :D

Svenn, 25 is the silver wedding anniversary. Perhaps that could be a start.
Bente is such a down-to-earth person, maybe she would like a hand-hewn bracelet, in sterling with your names, and a beautiful inscription from your heart........or, just maybe, she would like a trip to Las Vegas with her friend Cathi :o ;;D
Personally, I think she'd like being with you...what about that marvelous restaurant you showed me?

I'd go with Don, great idea.
Norway has lots of water surrounding it, there must be some great cruises to exotic places.

I don't know how romantically inclined Bente is.  With my wife a beautiful and unforgetable memory can be more valuable than any possession.  For our tenth Anniversary, I prepared us a candle lit steak and lobster dinner and made a simple wooden plaque with one of our wedding invitations and a wedding picture on it.  You'd have thought it was a diamond necklace.  Sometimes simple is better.  

Here are some ideas.  Maybe a combination of some of these might work:

> Set aside the whole day just for the two of you.  

> Revisit some place or places that are special in your lives.  Make sure those places exist before trying this!!!  

> Prepare a romantic candle lit dinner for two or take her out to dinner to "your" restaurant.  

> Put together a small photo album or one of those multiple picture frames of your favorite times spent with her from the day you met until now, but be prepared to explain why the few pictures you select are so special to you.  

> Get her a small token of your love, but surround it with an entire memorable day.  Then everytime she sees the small thing you bought, it will bring back overwhelming memories of how much you love her.  

Like I said, these would be something that would be a hit with my wife.  Your mileage may vary.  ;;D

Are you for real Gator.....wow......gave me goosebumps with the candle lit dinner and everything YOU did yourself. Gee Brad can open a can of soup for me and get in in the bowl ready for the microwave......he'd probly for get to add water tho. One cook house Pam


By the way......a nice fancy hotel room (hot tub option is a real plus if available) and nice resturant with bar downstairs and maybe even a band or some sort of entertainment for the weekend or at least one nite is always SUPER WONDERFUL for an escape and to celebrate a special time. Alot of hotels will offer champaign for special occations....and even deliver breakfast or meals to the rooms. Ah....and a room with a nice balcony and gorgeous view of the ocean or mountains.....a casino attatched or next door s is also a "good" added suprise for the eve. Opps....sorry I was dreaming and just woke up.....time to go cook and clean out the cat boxes. Was that as good for you guys as it was for me.....I need a cig now.......ahhhhhh that sounds so cool !!

Svenn I dont know you that well but from what little I know the 25th is the silver anniversary. So if that helps go that route. Women (most women) love jewlry.

Don and Gator - who knew that lurking under those tough hides was the heart of an old marshmallow.  Good ideas from both of you guys!

Svenn & Bente - congrats on making it to 25 years.  That's a real milestone these days.

Sometimes, we of the female gender go all weak-kneed over the most simple gestures.  I don't think it has to be something over the top.

Now you'll have to let us all know what you did do to celebrate this special time.

Aside from giving her decades more of your time. Take her on a trip that involves lifeboat drill.

Seriously though, it's spring time. Carriage ride in the park, Nice dinner, poss. dancing, most important show her how much you care for her and Love her. the cruises and jewelry are great and I am sure she would appreciate them but, as don put "it give her your time."
It is the one irreplacable thing that you have, and the most tresured.

 First of all Gator all I can say is your wife is one lucky woman I hope you recieve the same treatment you obviously give her.

  Congratulations Svenn and Bente .My suggestion would be to take gator and Don's advice both are great.my two cents renew your wedding vows.either just the two of you or in front of close family and friends.It doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate just from the heart.
