Title: To Oblivion And BEYOND! Post by PrettyH8Machine on Apr 26th, 2005, 1:32am Lemme see... where do I begin? Well, my 'puter machine was abducted by aliens (wanting to study intricate browsing habits of a middle aged man on earth is my guess) and returned with extra large fonts, wierd shit happening like some applications not working, some sites, not responding properly, etc. After some redneck-riggin' by my buddy Chaz, I still have large fonts, but some things seem to be working okay. Last week (happy belated Ree) I turned 35 and was told by several friends that I am officially "Old" (the fuckers) and I spent my weekend after helping a friend move getting drunk in between visits from the beast. I was also awoken on my birthday to hear that a friend and old bandmate had committed suicide, only to find out later that it was a different guy by the same name. Just too much going on at once.Out of Trex and seeing a neuro again Wednesday, and after spending some great time walking the park and getting some miles on my sneakers, my legs decided to do the "fuck you" game again, so having problems again. I'll spare you the bellyaching and just say that in my 35 years of living the best summation I can give on life itself is that it is an oxymoron. Yes, it truly is. That is my story and I'm-a-sticking-fucking-to it! ;;D So bear with me as I try to catch up on the board while holding a heavy load on this end. Got friends hurting right now, my 13 year old niece has gone from squeaky clean to total annoyed and aggressive goth punk girl in less than a year, and I feel partially responsible. Laid down some bass guitar tracks for a band I might be joining, and trying to get (literally) back on my feet and in the game again. Trying to get a car again, which would solve some problems. In fact, if I can sell some stuff on ebay, I may be getting a 1978 Cordoba for 300 bucks that was rebuilt by a friend of a friend, if it isn't gone before I get to it. It isn't great on gas, and is pretty much a muscle car, but it'll get me where I'm going. Crossing my fingers. Peace, Carl D |

Title: Re: To Oblivion And BEYOND! Post by cootie on Apr 26th, 2005, 11:27am Hope ya get the car Carl but how ya gonna afford the dam gas......dam that is gettin to be a real pain these days and added BIG expense. Eats up yer mad money fast ! The leg thing will come and go so get used to it......mine were at there worse in Nashville last summer and shook so bad I could hardly stand up......freaked me out but it comes and it goes. (mines back injury induced and muscle fatigue crap).......best to jus keep chuggin along and stay in shape and ignore the rest. Does yer neice wear black lipstick ? Got some freinds that do that.....and black finger nails and greasey hair blows me away. Who wants unwashed greasey hair for a style esp a girl. Odd balls out Pam PS: My other computer did that SAME dam thing yours did !! I had to install a new brouser.......started useing Opera. Only way I could get web pages to come up normal......IE was doom'd cuz I had fonts so big it was hard to read and stuff would jumble over each other in adds ect. Lot of stuff didn't work or work rite like you said. Problem is Opera worked but I have VERY VERY slow dialup and it is a slower brouser for me. But it was better then the grade school designer web pages I had to view otherwise. |

Title: Re: To Oblivion And BEYOND! Post by Charlie on Apr 26th, 2005, 3:16pm I'm glad to see you posting Carl and I hope things level out for you. 13 year old kids tend to do stuff like that. We make them nervous. Good luck getting the Cordoba. I hope the "Rich Corinthian Leather" is in good shape. 8) Charlie |

Title: Re: To Oblivion And BEYOND! Post by PrettyH8Machine on Apr 26th, 2005, 3:45pm Thanks for the well wishes guys. I hear ya on the gas thing Coots. Fricken outrageous!!! If I can get my damned legs to cooperate, I may be going back to work bartending. That would solve about a million problems. As it is right now, I get my monthly check, it's gone the day I get it, and it's scraping for the rest of the month. If I start bartending in St Louis, my buddy Tony said I will make very good money working 3-4 nights a week. Not to mention if I start playing in this new band, I will have a flexible schedule for gigs. It may be considered a negative outlook, but right now it doesn't look like things will pan out the way I want. Just being honest, as everything I have tried to put into motion for the last couple of years now blows up in my face. With my luck, I'll get the car, the engine will blow, and I'll have to PAY the junkyard to take it! That might sound stupid, but my Mustang was sidelined by the state who said the emissions were too high, and I wound up having to sell it for $50.00 when I didn't have the money to get the emissions fixed, and the junk yard wouldn't take it. LeLimey...friday funnies will be back this Friday (as long as ET leaves my fucking machine alone!) I have considered when I get a stable harddrive again, relearning the wheel and getting Linux, and using my Microsoft disc as a coaster! Peace, Carl D |
