Title: Ok I'm missin the whatchya listenin to threads.... Post by taraann on Apr 24th, 2005, 1:34pm My song obsession of the week is Welcome To My Life by Simple Plan Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place? Like somehow you just don't belong And no one understands you Do you ever wanna run away? Do you lock yourself in your room? With the radio on turned up so loud And no one hears you screaming No you don't know what it's like When nothing feels alright You don't know what it's like To be like me... To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life Do you wanna be somebody else? Are you sick of feeling so left out? Are you desperate to find something more Before your life is over? Are you stuck inside a world you hate? Are you sick of everyone around? With the big fake smiles and stupid lies While deep inside your bleeding No you don't know what it's like When nothing feels alright You don't know what it's like To be like me... To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life No one ever lied straight to your face No one ever stabbed you in the back You might think I'm happy But I'm not gonna be ok Everybody always gave you what you wanted You never had to work It was always there You don't know what it's like What it's like To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what it's like To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life Welcome to my life Welcome to my life Also listening to Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Rait & Meatloaf Love By The Dashboard Light by Meatloaf Save A Horse, Ride A Cowby by Big N Rich Feelin Way Too Damn Good by Nickleback Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes Fishin in The Dark by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Those are a few, now what are you listening to? |

Title: Re: Ok I'm missin the whatchya listenin to threads Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 25th, 2005, 1:59pm OK so I had a different list even as of this morning, but I was just getting ready for clinical. Today is the first day I will get to see my former boss from ER registration since her last chemo treatment for breast cancer. In light of that, I made her a CD (she absolutely LOVES gospel music which is a major part of the music sung by my old choir at Penn State) and got her a card. Here's the track list from the CD (forgive me for not having composers or any of that!) 1. Can I Lay in Your Arms? 2. Seasons 3. Lord How Excellent 4. Don't Cry 5. For Every Mountain 6. Amazing Grace 7. There is a Balm in Gilead 8. Come Before His Presence 9. The Highest Praise 10. Holy Thou Art God 11. You're Not Alone 12. I Love the Lord 13. The Twenty-Third Psalm 14. Everything That Hath Breath Hopefully it'll bring her comfort. The stuff in this cd is in part the reason why I get up every morning and try again! :) Hugz, Lizzie :) "The Spirit is always burning though the flesh is torn apart."~Aida :) |

Title: Re: Ok I'm missin the whatchya listenin to threads Post by Tiannia on Apr 25th, 2005, 2:07pm Katy Rose after all the teeny bobbers that are in the top 40 - I actually like her music. Besides she actually know how to play instruments. Amazing a singer that knows how to read music and writes her own stuff Snowflakes I only wish for snow to fall On the palm trees in the dirt But here the sun will always shine (It'll always shine) Even if with the clouds it flirts For Shngri-LA is always dry It doesn't cry like me In Hell-LA the sun is always there ( it's always there) Scalding the deep green sea I'll never be a snowflake and waltz to earth so gently To form a perfect blanket For someone else to walk on I've lost my mind in wanderlust my heart cannot be found My body yearns for the warmth of snow but the sun keep pouring down These streets have signs that point somewhere but there I don't belong And there's no more use To curl your hair When your innocence is gone I only wish for snow to fall On the palm trees in the dirt But here the sun will always shine ( always shine) Even if with clouds it flirts I'll never be a snowflake and waltz to earth so gently To form a perfect blanket For someone else to walk on |

Well, he sings it... Have you heard it? If not, check it out: http://www.reunionrecords.com/brianlittrell/ Best wishes, Sandie p.s. I hope that your former boss will beat the cancer! :) After losing my dad it has always been sad to hear about someone who's suffering from it. |

Title: Re: Ok I'm missin the whatchya listenin to threads Post by thomas on Apr 25th, 2005, 2:40pm As far as gospel songs go, the abovery *friendly* persone two best I have ever heard are Elvis's verison of "How Great thou Art" and "You'll Never Walk Alone". The power and conviction in those two songs is incredible. |

Title: Re: Ok I'm missin the whatchya listenin to threads Post by PrettyH8Machine on Apr 26th, 2005, 4:20pm Throwing Copper may be their best disc, but nothing shakes me or makes me bawl like the 9/11 remix of the song "Overcome" by Live. The passion of Ed's voice, the melancholy piano intertwined with sound bytes from 9/11 - just shakes my souls core. Right now though, nothing shares my angst quite like the new NIN song "Getting Smaller." "I'm just a face in the crowd. Nothing to worry about. Not even trying to stand out. I'm getting smaller and smaller and smaller. And I've got nothing to say. It's all been taken away. I just behave and obey. I'm afraid I'm starting to fade away!" Trents musical genius, combined with the ferocious drumming of Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, etc.) makes this disc possibly better (dare I say it?) than 1994's "The Downward Spiral." Rockin', Carl D |

Title: Re: Ok I'm missin the whatchya listenin to threads Post by taraann on Apr 26th, 2005, 5:42pm NIN - is the only concert I've ever been to. Back in 1993 or 94 I think. It was awesome. Downward Spiral and pretty Hate Machine (LOL) are the two I like the best by him. The only album that I've liked by Live has been Throwing Copper........then again I don't think I've heard the song you're talking about. Now "Lightening Crashes" is my fave by them cause its so true in my life. Every death there is a birth type thing. My grandpa died right before my son was born and my mom died when I was pregnant with my daughter. Both my kids are my angel babies, and I like to think a little of my grandpa is in my son and a little of my mom is in my daughter. |
