Title: Help please. I see a black spot...(floater) Post by psycofemale0403 on Apr 20th, 2005, 3:35pm What the hell is wrong with my head now. Last year I had a full blown cluster season. Apr-Jul. Usualy I have a 3 year break. I'm 26, it's been the same pattern since I was 14. I get them for three months every three years with nothing in between. However, this year is different. I'm shadowing.... BAD...... They're knocking me off my feet. And now I have this black floater in my right eye. (My left side is my cluster side) I have a dr. appt. tomorrow with a new eye doctor.... ( not looking forward to explaining clusters to a new dr....... again.....) Anyone have an idea what the hell is wrong with my head now? Do you think it's cluster related? ~ Lisa |

Title: Re: Help please. I see a black spot...(float Post by Frank_W on Apr 20th, 2005, 3:50pm Floaters come and go. It will eventually heal on its own, and it's not an emergency. If you begin to see bright flashes of light, it indicates a detached retina, and that's an emergency. Hang in there. [smiley=hug.gif] |

Title: Re: Help please. I see a black spot...(float Post by Opus on Apr 20th, 2005, 7:24pm I have so many floaters it is scary, looking up at the blue sky shows them all in 3D. Of course having a cataract at age 30 was worse, so far I can still see, ask the doc, but probably nothing to worry about. My last eye check up, the doc was concerned about my cluster eye, it being so red, so she gave me eye drops, but they did nothing ;) Opus/Paul |

Title: Re: Help please. I see a black spot...(floater) Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 20th, 2005, 7:38pm Depends on the floater. Floaters can be an ominous sign for some sort of damage to your eye. I'd have to dig out my notes or do a search for what to do when you have floaters, unless it is just keeping an eye (no pun intended!) on it. ;) I forget where you live. Have an eye hospital nearby? I hope your new doc can determine whether it is neurological in nature or opthamological in nature. You may need to see an opthamologist as opposed to an optometrist. It depends! Not trying to scare you, but I'm glad you are going to the doctor tomorrow! Take care, Lizzie :) |

Title: Re: Help please. I see a black spot...(float Post by cootie on Apr 20th, 2005, 11:04pm I have all them dam floaters too like Opus mentiond......good grief ya look at the sun and all ya see is sqiggles and dots.....freaks me out sumtimes !!!! Sum look like sum sorta parasite under a microscope !!! Sumtimes when bored I try to follow them cuz they seem to move for a few seconds when you move your eye and am sure if someone seen me do it they'd think I was surely NUTS like watching things that aren't there for anyone but me. I think they are just particles that get lost in your eye fluid.....not had alot of damage to my eyes that I know of but then I was hard on myself thru the 70's and 80's. The eyes have it Pam PS: I'm not a ch'r either by the way.........so it can't be related unless it causes more of them for you maybe ? |

Title: Re: Help please. I see a black spot...(float Post by purpleydog on Apr 20th, 2005, 11:05pm I went to see the opthmologist, my eye was incredibly bloodshot, and it was starting to hurt. It had been like this for weeks. This was right before my very first cycle. The opthamologist gave me steroid eye drops, after he told me the pain was nuerological in his opinion. Didn't work for the redness, and little did I know at the time, that it was a precursor to subsequent cycles. First the redness, then the pain. |

I have a black spot too. Been there ever since I can remember. Resembles a blind spot which we all have. It disappears when I turn my thick head. Charlie |
