Title: What do YOU think?
Post by Bethany1 on Apr 19th, 2005, 7:04am
Do you think that Level 3 Sex Offender information should be posted online and broadcasted on tv?

I know some states do it.  The arguement is that the offenders will not have a chance to lead a normal life if their info is posted.

My opinion, is that they gave up the right to that sort of privacy when the violated the rights of another.

The general population has a right to know if they or their children could be at risk of assult.

Do you think they are going to anyway? Level 3 means there is a high propensity to  re offend. Working for a property management company with family sites in the portfolio I check the MA SORI website weekly.

Level 3 = EVICTION.

Primarily Level 3 offenders are those with the highest likelyhood to re-offend.

Here is the level definitions:

Define "sex offender".

Is it someone who tells dirty jokes or a rapist with the manners of Jack the Ripper or someone in between?

This level 1,2 3 doesn't say anything about the seriousness of the offence.

A no brainer for me. I am out there on this subject. People who rape or commit sex crimes or molest children especially should be castrated the first time caught pure and simple. If the victums are children, the rapist should be put to death or at the very least given over to Bubba in the big house to be dealt with properly. I can't get over how we deal with these kind of reprobates. And is someone mentions therapy or rehab I will hurl.... [smiley=hurl.gif] It has been shown over and over again that there is no "cure" or brakes for these kind of evil fucks. Do away with em......

The levels define propensity to re offend and dangerousness not neccesarily the severity of the act. Theoretically someone who exposes themselves in public and does so repeatedly can be classified as a level 3.

Example: A rapist or attempted rapist is considered dangerous and will automatically be registered as Level 3.

Are the "levels" a US wide standard? I can't say I've heard of them here in NM. Which doesn't surprise me, I'm afraid.... :-/

I agree wholeheartedly with Ricky. I have three kids, anyone ever touches them and they will not need to worry about living a normal life.

Title: Re: What do YOU think?
Post by BarbaraD on Apr 19th, 2005, 9:55am
Now you've got my dander up!!!!  YES, they should be registered, casterated, and never allowed around humans (except Bubba in the big house) again.

Right now I think they're all moving to Gladewater TX and living on ONE street in town. At least that's where the paper has most of them. There are ten or eleven living on the same street which just happens to have a grade school on the end of it. I think this is totally unacceptable.

Second chance???? No way Jose! They've voilated someone else's rights and left them with NO second chance at a normal life. Rehab? No way - there's no rehab for a sex offender - if they get on the street, they're going to do it again (statistics).

Our Justice system has gone over the line with "rights" for offenders. I think I liked the old way better --- Hang 'em and if we find out later we were wrong - Apologize.

Hugs BD

Hey guys, I was just asking a question to find out your thoughts. Personally I think they should all just be shot. But the arguement here is that where are their rights? All of this politically correct mumbo jumbo really irritates me. So you ask, where are the offenders rights? What about the victims rights?

Title: Re: What do YOU think?
Post by Frank_W on Apr 19th, 2005, 10:20am
An offense of this nature, in my opinion, trumps the offender's rights. By committing this kind of act, the offender has proven that they are unfit to be a part of the society whose laws they have broken. The child(ren) that they have molested, raped, or injured will never lead a normal life. In my opinion, once the perpetrator has been proved beyond any shadow of a doubt, to have committed the crime, they should immediately be put to death. Period.

Heres a sad fact to ponder.

A large portion of the residents at the local Veterans shelter are sex offenders. I'm really not sure what that says other than there are mental health issues that need to be looked at.

Posted online? Yes

Broadcast on television? not sure

and I despise the term "offender".... <snipped>

What do those sexual sadists deserve?  The death penalty should be reserved for child killers and rapists.... and if the "offender" is both then he should get the most painful death penalty available.

I will have to get the link and post it here for you all...  don't know if there is one for every state, but for AZ there is a website you can go to... type in your zip code or city or whatever, and it will give you a detailed map with locations, pictures and offense descriptions for every registered sex offender in that area.

I think it is a FABULOUS idea, and I support it whole-heartedly.  I check the website and pay VERY CLOSE attention to the people milling around my neighborhood.  Certainly not a 100% failsafe, but helpful for sure.

God help the person who lays a hand on my child...

Here is one page of the website, just info about AZ sex offenders in general.   Lists, names, offense, picture, where they live...

I am sure further searching will show states have these.

NM has one...it's bookmarked and I check it regularly.

There was a volunteer at one of the local elementary schools who, it turns out, was a child sexual offender. Turns out he was married to a teacher who worked there. Lucky for them, it wasn't at my kid's school.  >:(

Don't forget these are the ones we know about...some stats:

325,000 children are reported as being sexually exploited in the United States annually.  Of that figure, 121,911 ran away from home and 51,602 were thrown out of their homes by a parent or guardian.

Child abuse is the least frequently reported form of abuse.

Family members -- fathers, stepfathers, uncles, older siblings -- commit 47% of all reported sexual assaults against children in their own homes.

49% of all sexual assaults against children are committed by persons known either by the child or the child's family -- teachers, coaches, physicians, ministers, priests,  neighbors, youth leaders.

4% of sexual assaults against children are by strangers (persons unknown to either the child or the child's family).

25% of exploiters of children are other children.

75% of children who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation are from middle-class backgrounds.

40% of the girls who engaged in prostitution were sexually abused at home, as were 30% of the boys.

Molesting is a varied term too.

death is too easy for these pricks.  castrate them and let them live with no "manlihood".  That should drive them crazy.

As an abused child, I always pictured the abusers that were caught as being punished by being hung from a tree...by their penises.  [smiley=laugh.gif]

This reminds me...of a song...by Vince Gill.
Not sure of the name of it...but it brings tears to my eyes.

A little girl is crying,
for her Mama & her Daddy..
She couldn't understand
Where they had gone....

She never knew the dangers..
Of talking to a stranger,
Now the girl can't find the way back home.

A little boy went walking,
Down to the corner market..
To buy a loaf of bread
And an ice cream cone....

He never knew the dangers..
Of talking to a stranger,
Now the boy can't find the way back home.

Too many kids are missing...
Is anybody listening?
Won't you be the children's eyes...
They're all alone.

The hardest part's not knowing,
Where they are or where they're going.
Won't you help the children find the way back home?

Three faces on milk cartons..
Thrown away and soon forgotten..
What if one of these three kids..
Was your very own?

Tonight these kids are weeping...
While your's are safely sleeping...
Won't you help the children find the way back home?

The hardest part's not knowing..
Where they are or where they're going..
Won't you help the children find the way back home?

I worry about the children...guess it's a natural thing today.   I have grandchildren....and nothing short of murder would satisfy me for justice for someone who touched one of them.

The problem lies with the justice system....the Judges.  Please remember some of their names....when election time comes around.

The a**hole in Florida, that killed that little girl...had 26 prior convictions for sexual crimes.  How can that be...how in the world was he walkin' round on the streets.   I wanna puke when they show his face on TV.  He looks so damn smug.   Picture him....with an innocent child....

Please, please....watch out for your kids!   Help others to watch out for theirs.  If you have a neighbor with no computer....print out the info they need...so they know who is in the neighborhood.

God gave me these grandchildren....they're mine!   And I will do whatever it takes to protect them....I will also do whatever it takes to defend my beliefs....mainly, a bullet to the skull of anyone...who chooses to harm one of mine.

This solution may not seem logical to you...but it makes perfect sense to me.   'Course...I have weird senses.  My solutions for justice do not necessarily reflect those who wear the robes.

As Woobie says.....Peace Out!     :-*

Jean

Well, since we aren't all that fond of these guys; you might want to experiment with George Carlin's solution.

Pick some square states in the middle of the country, move out the populace  and fill them up with with different repeat offenders of all kinds behind big fences, let them go at each other on specific dates and put it on pay per view. Might as well provide entertainment. Sort of a Texas-style solution, simple in every way.

Seriously,

A ton of them are going to repeat. Here's something for research rather than pecker stiffeners. Castration may be a sensible answer for some but so much of this is lodged in the brain. It ain't easy. Keep track of them.

You're exactly right, Charlie.

I would venture to say this is the problem in most.   However, if that is the case, they need to be locked away in an asylum somewhere.

BTW, I also like your scenario of a block of land and letting 'em battle it out.

Funny thing is...it seems that the justice system is really lacking in this area of Sexual Assault and Sex Crimes Against Children.   I will never understand it.   Do these judges have children....or grandchildren?

You know...in Texas...back in the 50's & 60's, the inmates at TDC (Texas Department of Corrections), in Huntsville, Texas, had to work.  As a child, I remember seeing the inmates working the fields.  They had to grow their own food.  They actually worked the chain gangs.  No inmate was allowed to loitter (sp?) in their cellblock.

Now....it seems as though someone decided that they had rights.   They don't have to do anything.   In my years with the Sheriff's Dept, they could do whatever they pleased.  They can sleep all day, if they so choose.  As a taxpayer in Harris County, this ticks me off to no end.

Point being....IMHO...they should have no rights.   When the Law is broken....and you stop following the rules, then you should sacrifice your rights.

This is costing us, the tax payers, alot of money to house these turds.   They get 3 squares a day, free medical, free dental, and the use of the Law Library where they sit for hours looking for loopholes in the Law.  There's inmates who have spent so much time reading the law books, the other inmates pay to have their cases looked at by these jailhouse "lawyers".  This is where alot the "frivilous" lawsuits come from too.  Oh..and the other day a Deputy friend of mine was telling me that there's a possibility that inmates are going to be given back their right to vote....while incarcerated.

As you can see, this subject is a bit of a "thorn in my side" so to speak.   It was bad before I retired....and it's worse now.

Sorry I rambled....

J

I've said it before, but here goes - if a person is so incorrigable that they can never ever again be allowed into society, why pay to house, clothe, feed, educate and entertain them?  Public execution in the town square works for me.  Make a public lesson about how their offenses will not be tolerated.  May keep a few others from following their footsteps.

My only concession to the death penalty would be a penal colony on an island well out of swimming range of the coast.   Mine the beaches and chum the waters to keep plenty of sharks around.  Put fully armed patrol boats in the water and shoot to kill if they step foot in the water.  They can be air dropped in as can be their food and any other supplies necessary to survive.  No guards to be killed in prison riots.  No innocent people killed during escape attempts.  Kick 'em out of the plane and wave goodbye.  Prisoners could be tattooed with their offense for easy identification by other prisoners.  Baby rapers (they were called chicken hawks when I was a prison guard) are hated by even the most vile and dangerous criminals.  They really wouldn't live very long in an open population.

Oh, wait what was the question? ;;D  Post it on the internet, at the post offices, on city street corners, parks where ever.  Screw their "rights."  They had no concerns for the rights of their victims.

I like what Broomie wrote because it brings up a good point.

Just look at college girls...typically.  Age what? 18-22 or so?

Go out and drink and party...at least most of em.

Who attacks them?

Their fucking best friends sometimes.  Are they on those lists?  Nope.

But they outta be paying for therapy the girls are going through for the rest of their lives for what the bastards did.

This stuff makes me mad as hell.   >:(

As an aside, I used to be a volunteer peer crisis counselor at Penn State...so I heard a lot of stories that really made me feel strongly about this...besides what I saw going on in general.  Pure evil.  Starts young, too. :(
