gheesh---they're a little touchy bout those shrooms. Someone must've been shaken up about a post as there's still a sound of iron cages dropping down and wailing people fleeing the scene.

I could almost hear the sound of a trout being slapped upside someones head.

A person, Les, gives the consensus regarding stance of the Board of Trustees on the next thread, it seems based upon informed choice.  Clear lines are drawn on decision making.  The efforts of achieving are done in different ways.  When the information they are looking for and prefer is discussed, the door is not permanently closed and locked regarding advocasy of the subject.

we most certainly live in a free society here.......free to speak as we chose......ree

Seems to be a simple matter of protocol and professional courtesy and respect.

Goadsby is the patron. He has worked with OUCH UK a lone time. It would be professionally inappropriate to not consult with him first after he has receieved the data.

Could be wrong.

well i just find it funny that we can't get people to act as adults here but other Ch. sites discriminate content that is appropriate on their site... I can only imagine what the cluster world thinks of this site here... everything is appropriate here...with the exception of the MIGRAINE SUFFERERS...... demons that we are......ree

PS and said UKers post here and run away with their ideas and freedoms here...HMMMMMMM is right....

Thank you Kevin and Don

Maffumatt, that is an old post you have linked to, if didn't read selectively you would see that there is a link to the MAPS trials on there.

Visitors can click the link and read everything they could want to know about shroom research. The area you visited is the entry point for new visitors. In the same way as any board, ch.com, OUCH US, wherever it may be, information is linked to as it couldn't possibly be all there on one page. There are links to most things on there I think you'll find.

As Don also says, quite rightly, our relationship with Professor Goadsby is very close and longstanding and we follow his lead on what treatments or research he thinks are effective or worth pursuing and we use his up to date information and advice to advise our sufferers.

W the B

Ree,

As I'm sure you are referring to me, please be upfront and say so. BUT you miss the point,  they are two completely different sites with different purposes, The site linked to is a new person visitor site for initial CH advice. It needs to be kept relatively clear and simple for confused or distressed people who know very little about CH. You wouldn't post the same things on ch.com as you would post on there or on OUCH US or use the same language.

Thankyou for clearing that up Puggirl, I was wondering why they would limit information like that. That was my first time to visit Ouch UK .

That's Ok maffumatt

I'm trying to work out now how to unlock the post you linked to from December and put an additional message on it to point people to the MAPS thread.

It may take a while as I'm not very good at all that stuff! :-[

An add on comment which I wanted to say about Cluster Headache websites.

Despite the fact that there seems to be some resentment from Ree of me posting here, I have always thought it a very good thing that there are several different sites across the world serving different purposes and run in different ways, which we can post on and share information or ideas and thoughts. I try and make my contributions to any site useful (apart from the occasional drunken moment )

DJ purposely makes this site mostly "self regulating", that is its huge value and its potential downside in my view. It is a great place to argue new thoughts and ideas, but it can be a bit of an intimidating place for new sufferers. This is the necessary result of it being so open.

The various OUCH sites across the world serve a different purpose and are run in different ways to serve that purpose.

Hi Steve

We have quite detailed 02 links on there already as the right kit is quite complicated to get hold of in the UK. Things will be much better in October though as all NHS 02 will be at 14l per minute. That will save OUCH UK a huge amount of work loaning out regulators.

Sean
r.e. "Said UK'ers who post here"

I'm the one who replied to the thread in question that maffumatt linked to on the OUCh Board, and there isn't anyone else on there who posts here ( or not with their real name anyway 8) so there isn't anyone else it could be.

If you didn't mean me Ree, I sincerely apologise, but can't see who else it could possibly be.

Wendy, this statement reflects a parallel understanding of what I read from the UK site when posting a somewhat similar statement but you make the point clear again.

Let's just say I was damned surprised to see that Wendy was the author of the post restricting Flash and locking the thread....Never did I say that I resented Wendy specifically posting on this site.... Just surprised at the change in voice of the Wendy that I am used to hearing at CH.com USA!!!
Everyone knows that I am not a huge supporter of shroom therapy "FOR OUR FAMILIES NEEDS" (be sure not to take this out of context). But I am an advocate for freedom of speech and my first post to this thread stated that..... If you took it personally, well...

Freedom of speech is fine on an open forum.

OUCH UK is a business and discussions there should be appropriate to the guidelines and policies of that business. As in any business.
