Title: please Post by Ree on Apr 14th, 2005, 1:02pm say a prayer for my dad today he has been in surgery since 9 am...to replace a vein in his leg to restore circulation.......he is also having a toe amputated..... His name is Bud McGovern and he is an angel....... thanks......the power of prayer works...... love ree and her now aching wrist (Im watching kids today!!! without the vicodan!) |

Hopefully this will do the trick I heard the pulses in his feet and legs tonight...If he is a good boy and listens and doesn't get infected....and heals he will be okay... the complications to this surgery are immense......or can be immense...I just can't think like that. I just need him that much... My brother and I walked in to the room tonight and when the nurse said "are you in pain Mr McGovern" he said "I was but now that my kids are here Im fine...." Love is like that... try some......I will sleep better tonight.....major surgery like that I said... "Dad want me to come back and sleep in the chair."....he said "NO you need to be home"... Then he smiled and he said "Im gonna watch the Red Sox......" He is just the cutest.......love to you guys Ree |

I was really touched by your last post when nursing staff asked him if he was in pain. I cried at his reply..and it brought wonderful memories of my own dad come flooding back...so thank you for that Ree. I will pray for you all..Bud, Scott, Sean,Dave and for you. How is your wrist doing now? Can you feel the warmth and love from everyone on these boards...I can..pretty awesome don't you think? Thank you guys. |

He wants to go home...... thats all he wants....He doesnt even ask for help from the nurses..... and he is on tylenol for pain....... amazing..... Ive not been myself lately... Reflecting on life as well as taking care of my parents.....and wondering is this all there is.... sometimes I feel doomed..... sometimes I feel fortunate....... Others look at me and think I have it all... Tomorrow will be another day.....for Dad and for me and my sorrows..... be well and pain free in this world full of turmoil...... waiting for answers..........ree |
