Title: Just a tad bit PISSED here!!!
Post by PrettyH8Machine on Apr 7th, 2005, 6:52pm
Gee, I am so glad Howdy Doody got re-elected to fuck us for another four years! Since he ran our deficit into the ground, cuts had to be made SOMEWHERE so guess who gets the backdoor snake without a kiss...

As of April 1st, Medicaid has decided that 5 vials of Trex is just too much for a month, so now I get four. Two other prescripts are no longer covered. Today, my Dr put me back on HRT. The pharmacist let me know that he has to wait to hear from the state to see if Androgel is still covered. If not, well heck, the script is only 400 bucks. I just have to decide which is more important - meds or rent.

Seeing fucking red right now,
Carl D

Security Companies are always looking for help and it can be a position where you do not need to be on your feet all the time.

Carl,

I dont' know if you'd qualify, but have you ever looked into all the free/low income programs offered by the various drug companies?  If you want, I can post you a bunch of links.  I believe that Bridges to Access is the one for GlaxoSmithKline, who makes Imitrex.  Don't quote me on that because I don't have the programs pulled up in front of me at the moment.  We use a program called Access to Care at the health districts to get certain meds free for people who qualify, but the list wouldn't be overly helpful to a clusterhead for drugs from that particular group.

Let me know if you want the links!

Lizzie

Trust me, been doing everything I can to get back into the swing of things and get a decent job. after being chronic the last 7 years, the past two months gave me much hope that I might go episodic again. I was sleeping like a normal human being for the first time in years, getting my strength back, etc. It's like my body forgot in those two months everything that has happened the last few years. I've tried not to whine about it on here, but the legs are hurting like hellSince the CH's returned full force 3 weeks ago, I'm not hardly sleeping again; and now the fibro is fucking me up bad again. The last four days I have had very little sleep, and none last night. My doc realized today how serious the sleep deprivation is effecting me (I could barely stay on the scale when they weighed me.) My equalibrium is off, and what is weird is, I can't remember being even half this out of it when I was awake 8 days straight. He prescribed Somnote to be taken with the Amitriptyline and Remeron, and Quinine for the leg cramps & Flexeril for spasms, so hopefully that will get me some sleep.

I'm just wiped out and frustrated by the catch-22. Here I have been fighting to try and get more Trex a month, and now they cut it. I'm also afraid of what might happen if I am unable to get the Androgel. It got dangerously low last year, which caused even more problems. I could go on and on but will spare you. Just had to vent and get it out.

Carl

*Sure. Send me the links and I'll check into it. I've tried certain things in the past online, but since I have medicaid I didn't qualify

Weren't you takeing Ultrum for a while for the fibro.....it really can help ease off some of the aches......or yu can rotate it with other meds so ya don't get too used to one or the other which is what I do. FLexeril turned me into a total zombie.....I was so tired I was grouchy as hell the entire time so I have sumthin else that isn't as bad for the spasm's. I couldn't handle feelin that drained. Flexeril and paxil are on my list of NO NO's. Even my doc said it would make me feel totally wacked tired on it.....so pay attention in case ya start feelin worse cuz it could be the med. Better bright then bushed Pam

Back on the Ultram again. The Flexeril doesn't really make me tired or groggy. In fact I barely notice any side effects from it. Now Ultram, that stuff helps, but some side effects are pretty yucky. I tried Paxil back in 2001 and it made me manic. Was up for 5 days straight and could not shut off at all. Some meds have an opposite effect on me for some reason. I had tried Zanaflex which is a skeletal muscle relaxer, but it didn't help with the spasms. Do you remember how high of a dose you were taking of the Flexeril?

CD

*Also taking Piroxycam, which is a Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory

Carl,

Yes having medicaid may preclude you from being qualified for some of the programs, but honestly I haven't looked into them all enough to know if that's the case for every program.

Just give me a little time..have an assignment due by midnight and I'm having a hard time getting focused to get it done!  haha

Just out of curiosity...do you live within city limits of a city with public health centers?

I believe it was 10 mg's for the flexeril. It made me worthlessly tired....when I get that tired I get grouchy as hell.....not enuff energy to lift my arm tired. For me sittin around feelin like that is OUT of the guestion even with a broken foot I am up and about. I have zanaflex now.....I am a 'total' muscle spasm head to toe but I jus don't wanna take shit that makes me tired all day. There's a med my doc recommended that is similar to an antidepressant and starts with a C....kinda sounds like the word crayon ? He said it is used for chronic pain patients. Yeah.....like viox and celebrex ? What makes you feel better may kill you later Pam

Trust me, been doing everything I can to get back into the swing of things and get a decent job.

One job was screwed because I don't have a car yet, and now this band gig might be screwed for the same reason. I had planned to be playing out by now, but my old bass player screwed me by stonewalling and then backing out. Doing everything I can to get back on my feet, but I've got more shit than just clusters to fight. Now my legs are hurting bad again and having a hard time standing up, and even withall the sleep meds I'm not sleeping. My problem is, I hurt but get NO REST. My Doc took one look at me yesterday and knew I hadn't slept. The Fibro is much worse and my equilibrium is messed up, but I'm still fighting it and, fuckit. I've already said too much on here. Just more ammo for anyone to use against an easy target.
You know, I made a resolution that I wouldn't whine on here anymore, but I guess even if I am just stating facts it is considered whining so I'll shut the fuck up from now on and keep it to myself.

Have you looked into home based employment? Something you could do with the puter or maybe online?

Carl you haven't said to much.  We all need a place to come to vent and here is where you do it.  Just because someone is having a bad day or something him/herself doesn't mean you keep it in.
If it weren't for here I would be so depressed because the husband is worried enough as it is.  If I can spare a few things to not increase the stress on him I will.
Please don't give up on those of us that do care...
PF wishes, Kim

We aging hippie liberals are all hiding out avoiding work as best we can.

So far we've been pretty quiet about it. A lot of us worry that we'll be discovered though. Now and then you can smell us when we forget to fall in the stream.

Peace, love, dope.  http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/guitar.gif

Carl, Doc gave me mirapex for my leg cramps. It works! All that other shit you mentioned ain't worth a shit. If that don't work try neurontin. Alot of people, including me take this for c h but I know 3 people who use it because they have nerve problems in their legs, they get the burning sensation and neurontin has done wonders. Good luck! Chris
