Title: Where's your line? Post by sandie99 on Apr 4th, 2005, 11:51am Me and bunch of my friends had an intresting discussion about things we're willing to talk about. Some of us drew the line to politics, some to religion, some to sexuality. Where's your line? Sandie |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by Langa on Apr 4th, 2005, 12:23pm Politics. And the very intimate parts of my life...specifically those things that really hurt, that keep me up at night...I won't even discuss these with my family...probably because I don't want anybody's opinion and also because I usually work through stuff in my own way and in my own time, so why weigh anybody down with it... :-X But that's just Langa's way... Good post, thanks Sandie! Langa |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by seasonalboomer on Apr 4th, 2005, 12:24pm Depends on what you mean by "talking about". If that means, will I comment on any of those subjects. All three, anytime. But, if you mean, really "talking" and "sharing" personal views and experiences and where one's views are formed from, then that is probably another story. Sad but true don't you think. |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by nani on Apr 4th, 2005, 12:30pm I have no lines. :-/ I am one of those annoying, mouthy people who never hesitates to say what I think. I've been known to spill my guts to complete strangers. One positive thing about that...nobody ever has to guess how I feel or who I am. |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by Redd715 on Apr 4th, 2005, 8:28pm Untill CH I was a totally open book, sometimes to a fault... There was no topic off limits. If someone was willing to talk intelligently about a subject i would be open to anything. CH changed that. I think due to the fact that intelligent conversation on the topic is reserved to us that suffer or support it. Outside of that, it's a crap shoot and all the well meaning advice of take some tylenol, stand on your head and shove pepper spray up your schnoz ... well you know the drill... |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by Kris_in_SJ on Apr 4th, 2005, 8:48pm Depends on the company. For me, sex, politics and religion tend to all overlap - at least regarding the subjects I truly care about. I freely speak my position and will listen to another's, but refuse to enter into a debate. Mostly because I'm so passionate about my personal beliefs, that I usually start to cry and make a fool of myself. It's not good to do that in an intellectual debate or discussion. Kris |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by PrettyH8Machine on Apr 4th, 2005, 11:49pm I have none. I will talk about anything. However, when I go through hell, there are only 1 or 2 people I will actually talk to about it. I oftentimes talk about things on this board alot easier than I can talk to someone around me. It is easier to write (or type) something out, and it is also probably me at my most vlunerable (which is why I am glad my friends around me don't visit this board.) I hide things with sarcasm and cynicism. I can be quite the comic on a very dark day and most won't know any different. I have also been kind of a 'shock value' cardholder since age 5 when me and Peewee King (I lived in East St Louis as a kid) well, we educated each other with what cusswords we hadn't already heard out of our parents. My sis in law thinks I am insane. It could be. After all, not many people who are greeted with "How are you?" respond along the lines of "I'm very horny. How are you doing?" However, I am a firm believer that, in an insane society, the sane man must appear to be insane. ;;D Peace, Heywood Jablome |

Title: Re: Where's your line? Post by Frank_W on Apr 5th, 2005, 3:46pm Depends on whom I'm discussing these things with. Around strangers, I tend to be reserved and pretty neutral. With close friends, there are no lines. |
