Title: Re: what do you think... Post by Frank_W on Apr 1st, 2005, 12:14pm Personally, I think freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. The more people demand that the government, church, society, or some entity or organization outside of themselves, "save them," pay for everything, and do everything for them, including raising their children, and the less responsibility we are willing to accept for what takes place in our lives, the more freedom slips away. Personal, individual responsibility. As Soul, spiritual beings having a human experience, we are absolutely free, with the only limitations being those which we place on ourselves. IMO, freedom, being utterly independent of any kind of material wealth or social status, is therefore not synonymous with "nothing left to lose." My two pasetas' worth..... |

Title: Re: what do you think... Post by sandie99 on Apr 5th, 2005, 2:58pm But seriously, freedom is so important. It's even more important when you know that things could easily be different. Finland had to fight for its independence. My granma lost both of her brothers back then and my granfather was never the same man once he returned. Freedom comes with a high price. There are several men and women here who pay that price still every day. They will always have my appreciation and gratitude. |
