Title: Now This Just Changed The Course of My Weekend... Post by PrettyH8Machine on Mar 31st, 2005, 4:17pm Been a very heavy day today (no, not like that - sheesh you have a sick mind.) ;;D First a friend stopped by who let me know he ran into my friend Calvin's mother the other day. She is back living at the same old his here in town where us kids used to hang. This year marks the 20th anniversary of his passing, and it has been over 10 years since I seen his mom. So, I am going with my buddy Bry to her house next week. I go to my brother's house earlier to take care of a few things. I wind up talking to my old guitarist who is recording a hot new band in our old studio. The drummer is one of the best in St Louis named Joe Dogget. He had a band awhile back that was the darling of the local radio station. Well, they are recording and need a bass player. "Interested?" Mike asked me, he mentioned some of their stuff was reminiscient of Tool meets Hole meets Rush meets Korn. Sounds like my cup of java. I was like "Yeah I'll check them out." Well, Mike called Joe, told Joe who I was and when he found out I was the singer/ lead guitarist/ writer for Act of God, to make a long story short - I leave here at 5 to go meet the band and jam with them. Since my other band is not coming together as soon as I needed it to, I am gonna go for this. Been a guitarist 25 years now, but can tear up a bass guitar too. Now, I haven't been hit since early this am, so not taking any chances and grabbing a Trex arsenal to take with me. Brain is half shut off and I am on auto-pilot, but hell, I can play music in my sleep. Wish me luck. I'll need it. Carl |
