Title: Busy Busy Busy Post by Rock_Lobster on Mar 28th, 2005, 11:27pm Heya all. Sorry I have been away. Lurking a bit, but not posting. Lots of business trips. Was in San Diego for a week, then in Miami the following week. I am truly a martyr... spending Spring Break in Miami... [smiley=me&mb.gif] Aside from that, all my spare time has been going into this... http://www.icondesigngroup.com/search/detail.asp?planid=105A-722 Progress: http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=yge5tll.76m0021h&x=0&y=-5q25q3 See those small evergreens in the first few pics? Those are part of the 6th fairway.. in play. Front door is 55ft from the in-bounds line. [smiley=thumb.gif] Best, Lobstah |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by clarence on Mar 28th, 2005, 11:39pm Hey Rock, Glad to see you around. Though, I can't blame you for being away...San Diego and Miami? Not too bad! Nice pics, though I didn't see your feet in any of them. I guess you don't quite have the touch like vig... So, when your house is finished, are we all coming over for a house party? Casey |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by Rock_Lobster on Mar 28th, 2005, 11:45pm Heh... to be honest, I have not even seen the lot with my own eyes, let alone the work in progress. It is about 800miles that-a-way. Picking the stuff... floors, cabinets, windows, HVAC systems, plan changes... all a major pain in the ass. I hope to spend a week out there when they start framing it, then another week to pick interior crap... granite and tile and such. |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by Bethany1 on Mar 29th, 2005, 7:04am Very Cool Rock, we just had plans done for our 'future' house. Now we just have to find the land, but its sooo expensive around here, we will be 80 by the time the house is done. Your plans look great, you must be so excited. Good for you guys, takes a lot to build your dream home. Best of luck to ya-- Beth |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by cootie on Mar 29th, 2005, 9:59pm Boo hoo hoo I still don't know what a mudd room is......mucks of luck Pam |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by Rock_Lobster on Mar 29th, 2005, 10:47pm The mud room is where one puts their muddy shoes and such when they enter the house through the garage coot. About the only thing we are changing on the exterior Steve is: The bedroom wing is being extended another 3ft out the back of the house. The entire rear will be a walkout... no retaining walls as shown in the rear elevation. So the right side of the house, looking at the rear elevation, will have full length glass. Swapped the door and window locations on the sun room. The sun room will now exit onto a nice sized deck behind the kitchen area. A few other more minor changes. And we scrapped the entire lower level plan... I will post the new one sometime. |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by Frank_W on Mar 30th, 2005, 9:24am It sounds lovely. Can't wait to see the finished product! :) |

Title: Re: Busy Busy Busy Post by stevegeebe on Mar 30th, 2005, 1:35pm Thanks Rock. It appears that the second floor walls, for the most part, are co-planer with the first floor. If that's the case, than the eave heights would have to extend up vertically in order for the windows on the second floor to be in plane with the exterior wall and under roof, as indicated on the plan. This would make for a full two story look instead of the single story look in the rendering. I check construction documents all day long and sometimes I can't stop. Sorry. I did not mean to get into your business. Looking forward to the progress photos. It's going to be worth it. Steve G |
