Its probably something simple like you've infringed on a copyright, will be served with a subpeana, go to trial, spend your life savings on a lawyer and spend the rest of your life in a federal penetentiary.

Makes sense Gator. Unfortunately, that doesn't work. So far changing the profile won't do it. I'm told the urls aren't right or something no matter what I try. >:(

hey Charlie - I checked the properties of your icon and it looks like it was hosted at Elaine's old site. I know Elaine has closed down her site. So, since her site is now closed, the image is just hanging out there in cyber space. If you want, I don't mind hosting it for you over at OUCH Canada. I've got a little bit of room left for an old friend. ;) You let me know, ok?

Edit: Actually, Charlie - Ueli beat me to the punch here. Just copy and paste the link he gave you. Copy it into your profile where it says "I have my own picture". That should work for you.

Interesting. In my computers - with IE under WinXP and Mozilla under Linux no probs. With FireFox under WinXP no can see. I even get file not found if I try to copy and paste the address into FireFox's url line.

Not working under IE6 or Opera in whatever OS Jonny is using.

PDawg is using Linux (I think) and Mozilla and can see it.

Donna can see it using Mozilla and her OS.

BikerBob can't see it with Mozilla and his OS.

Oh, Charlie! What browser are you using under what OS? Maybe updating your browser and your OS will fix the problem.

I have a valid url Ueli. I couldn't post all of the of the gifs I do without some of my own hosting. A real chunk of the stuff I post here is in my charlies/gifs space at my server. Works for everything my avatar. [smiley=huh.gif]

And yes, I do see everyone else's posts.

Charlie - when I looked at it yesterday, it had headachesupportgroups in the url. Did you try deleting that one and copying the url that Ueli gave you?

At the moment I have Ueli's url there but it too won't work. No matter what I try I get "cannot be retrieved, found, or whatever." By the way, it takes me several minutes for it to come up and tell me this. I stare at my profile forever it seems. Beats me.

Its not you or your puter Charlie, I cant get that little guy to work in my profile either and I tried it a couple diff ways.

PM Ueli's link to DJ so he can see if there is a reason it wont work in a profile.

I think I found the snag: The "I have my own pic" input box is fuking choosy in what it accepts.

The URL I gave ( http://tinypic.com/2dtfl2 ) because it doesn't end with .gif or .jpg.

When you inserted

http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/smile dance 2.gif

the unacceptable characters were the spaces. you have to replace the spaces with %20, so

http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/smile%20dance%202.gif

should work.
