Title: Gas Prices too High?
Post by Redd715 on Mar 27th, 2005, 2:26pm
-- Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

Compared with Gasoline

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ...... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 .........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ...... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ..... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .... $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ......... .. $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ......$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?! $21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or god forbid Pepto Bismal or Nyquil.

97.9 cent's per liter here...just went up 5 cents overnight >:( That's about $3.90/U.S. gallon) rectumholes! They are sayin' it's OPEC, that's f@%$#ing bullshiat, every oil manufacturing company is makin record profits right now, even the ones that traditionally don't make much money...so as far as I'm concerned it is all a big scam! I ride my bike most of the time anyways. So screw you OPEC!

This does put a new light on things doesn’t it?  LOL.

I’m still considering rollerblading it to work though… :-/

Good point, Paul.....lucky for me I have invested quite nicely in XOM in the last few years.  So at least when I'm filling up the tank, I see a little of it returned in personal assets. Helps pay for the O2. ;)

I know it's almost obscene.  I think Unocal has a bigger stake in refining, so they have done well during this recent shortage.

When gas prices begin affecting the cost of transporting everything we consume and the economy sinks, then you will see more political action.  Sad.

Thanks for rubbing our noses in it. Glad to also see someone is taking advantage of the tax code. I suppose I can't fault you for that...

Well, we are after all living in a capitalist society.  So, even thought we need to be watchful about the Enrons of the world, we can benefit from some of that wealth distribution if we know to play that game.

True, but this isn't quite free market economics...
It's holding back on other industries ability to prosper.

Interesting article the other day. If gas was maintained at high levels, it would make people think about fuel effeciency or hybrids.  God forbid. We don't a thing like that of course.

It's nobodies fault but the stupid mofo's that voted the weasel lookin bastard in to office in the first place. I hope they feel good about, cause I just sit back and laugh at the poor sob's. I live 10 miles from work and the railroad pays for all my gas I use. Maybe they will pull their heads out of their ass next time around. (I doubt it though).

Me either, sort of. Gas is about $2.40 a gallon here (for the cheap stuff). I pay 12 cents a gallon to some gang bangers to steal it for me.
