Title: Things Republicans Believe Post by Bethany1 on Mar 19th, 2005, 12:31pm A truthful and SARCASTIC list: 1. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is a solid defense policy. 2. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. 3. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business. 4. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s and John Kerry did in the 1970s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant. 5. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism. 6. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. 7. Group sex and drug use are degenerate sins unless you someday run for governor of California as a Republican. 8. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex. 9. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery. 10. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. 11. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton. 12. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies, then demand their cooperation and money. 13. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5dd38b3127cce90ee5e88b22100000016108Actm7Zu2ZN8 |

Title: Re: Things Republicans Believe Post by clarence on Mar 19th, 2005, 12:49pm Just for the record: I am a Christian, and I do believe Jesus loves you (though I do think that that phrase is cheesy), but in no way do I hate homosexuals, and neither does Jesus... :-/ And this has nothing to do with being a republican - I'm independent. Title: Re: Things Republicans Believe Post by jokrs2 on Mar 19th, 2005, 12:56pm ;;D How about 1 ballot with many people on it. Not parties. Then we just vote for the one that is nearest to what we like or value. I like Larry the cable guy. Git-r-dun ;) Are you a person of the cloth [smiley=huh.gif] In addition you said truthful. In the bible in Galatians it says that God considers "homosexuality" among other things to be an abomination. Websters - Abominable (def) (1)away from man, inhuman, nasty & disgusting, vile, loathsome. (2) highly unpleasant, disagreeable, very bad..syn: see hateful. These are God's words. Jesus forgives "everyone" who chooses Him. We can and should love everyone, but we can hate their actions....just how this sinner & saint see's it. Hope you have a blessed day. ps Paul called me a saint. ;;D |

Title: Re: Things Republicans Believe Post by BarbaraD on Mar 19th, 2005, 1:00pm Thanks Beth.. I needed a good laugh today. If it weren't so darn true ... Oh well... I sent elephants to all my good republican friends and named them all George -- Also supplied a "scoop" with them.... Hugs BD |

Title: Re: Things Republicans Believe Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 19th, 2005, 4:54pm My dad is Catholic and a Republican...he made this comment one night at dinner about teaching creationism in schools and that if we are going to teach the simple "theory" of evolution, then we also need to teach the "theory" of Creationism because we can never "prove" either one. I told him that the Bible doesn't talk about dinosaurs. He told me to STFU. Seriously...I love my dad and I'm super close to him, but we have very different religious and political views! As for the condoms in school stuff, when I work in peds at the health district (yes, public health district funded by tax dollars!!!), the following occurs: We have a child of a certain adolesnce (like over 13 or 14)...his mom goes up to make the dental appointment for the child to save time. We ask the child if he is sexually active and if he needs condoms. If he says yes, we get him a bag of condoms with some reading on safe sex and how to use a condom. If this is done with the mom around...of course nothing will happen! I dunno how long they've been doing this...but I personally think it is better practice to hand out condoms to kids rather than having to treat all their STDs and premature pregnancy issues. However, I was surprised we are allowed to do that. I don't *think* they have any sort of needle-distribution program, but I know that's been part of health care programs in the past.... Very interesting concepts! Carrie :) |

Title: Re: Things Republicans Believe Post by maffumatt on Mar 19th, 2005, 6:11pm How Many Liberals Does it Take to Win a War? How Many Liberals Does it Take to Win a War? Written by Russ Vaughn How many Liberals does it take to win a war? How many of you Liberals does it take to win a war? Well how the hell can we tell? You won’t fight one anymore. You say that you support the troops, but the truth’s plain as your face, You’d pull us from the battle, march us home in full disgrace. You’ve no stomach for the fighting, got no mettle, got no pluck; If you ran this war on terror, we’d be a very well plucked duck. The wolves of Jihad smell your dread, can smell your craven breath, And emboldened by the fear they scent, lust for our bloody death. “But wait,” you protest piously , “We are fighters for the poor.” Might we suggest you start to fight, before wolves come through the door? When the wolves run wild among them, sinking fangs into their backs? Think then that they’ll be caring, when they’re counting out their dead, We inflict pain on a captive wolf to learn what’s in his head? Do you really think, you bleeding hearts, when they bleed in scarlet torrents, They’ll care we cage the savage wolves, search lairs without signed warrants? For years we watched your “feel good” courts defang our criminal laws, Handcuff our police, give felons rights, espouse the criminals’ cause. Felonious wolves were freed to prey, and we suffered their wild rages Till “thinking” men took back the courts, put the wolf packs back in cages. With your same old clueless “feelings” you now decry this war; And with your same old fuzzy logic, common sense you still ignore. We must look into “root causes” and we must try to “feel their pain;” Pardon if our eyes start rolling, at your same old lame refrain. It’s hard to fathom whence you come, perhaps some flawed eugenics, That begets utopian pessimists, sires optimistic cynics. Thanks be the power to rule the land remains beyond your means; A regime of yours, would be like, no doubt, being ruled by pimpled teens. Your quixotic quest for a world love nest, denies some truths quite real, Like the need to have some “thinking” folks to preserve your right to “feel.” Abhorring blood on your own hands, there’s a hard truth you’ve ignored, Someone else must take your plowshare, and beat it back into a sword. Winston Chirchhill once said " If you 20 and a your not a liberal you have no heart, if your 40 and your not conservitive, you have no brain." Title of Ann Coulters book How to talk to a liberal if you Must. |
