Today was the final hearing.He could have gotten 40 years in the state pen and 2 felonies on his record worse case senerio. We prayed. The judge reduced the felonies to misdominors. Ordered probation for 3 years and he has to complete 150 hours of comunity service work. If he behaves himself after 3 years the misdemenor will be expunged. Meaning it will disapear from his record. Thank you all for your prayers and support getting me through this difficult time.

That is good to hear Karla. Big hopes that he realizes that is a fortunate a one time thing. Good to hear no felonies. :) No fooling with the law past that point. I got that chance too and three years diligent probation for different reasons and it was the last look at the edge I ever want to see. Whishoo.

What an opportunity! I hope it is appreciated and exploited as the gift that it is. Many who are given this kind of a second chance view it as a reason to continue getting into trouble ("hell, it didn't hurt last time I got busted..." ). Let us all will him to understand and modify his behavior. Best wishes for you Karla.

Glad to hear it, Karla. Its good that the judge used discretion and is thinking about potential rehabilitation, costs to society, and not just following a cookie-cutter sentencing guideline. I hope your son takes advantage of this break and straightens out.

I'm really pleased for you Karla, I hope your son realises how lucky he is.. I know you do! I'm glad its an end to your fretting and worrying about it too
