Unfortunately I noticed the nip ring......the bolt is much easier and less dangerous ....... When I was in college and in great shape I had both of mine pierced...bad a$$....... Well......one was ripped out in a brawl! eek!! Took the other one out on my own!! Cheers to more mature days and looking forward to having a kiddie of my own some day! God bless |

As for the piercings...I have kind of a funny story. On Tuesday when I got to the hospital for my surgery, they told me I had to remove all piercings. In October, I got my navel pierced as well as the cartilage in my left ear. I also wear a toe ring (no piercing obviously) which I always forget I have on. Well I've never removed the cartilage or navel piercings since I got them...so you can imagine I wasn't overly thrilled with this idea! I got the toe ring off and managed to get the earring out of my ear... I tried like hell to get the navel ring out. I COULD NOT get it unscrewed (its a barbell type) to get it out!! They took my glasses, and I get really anxious when I can't see...but my mom kept them. So I was in the pre-op waiting area where the anesthesiologist put in my IV and we went over everything about the surgery. It was such a big deal that we couldn't get the navel ring out. My nurse called the OR to see what they wanted to do. Finally I get to the OR, and everyone is laughing about this ring. The resident for my surgery said he was gonna have to take it out himself. The nurse starts talking about hemostats (scissors with clamps on the end), and I'm thinking, "Holy shit...this better happen after I'm out of it!!!" I love having the piercing, but seeing anything pull at my skin would make me a little queasy... Sure enough when I'm in the recovery room, one of the residents comes over to me and said, "Oh we got your piercing out...It's in a bag on the front of your chart." Right now the piercing is in a specimen cup sitting upstairs on my dresser! So a word to the wise for anyone needing surgery who has piercings. Get them out yourself, or they WILL take them out for you!!! I'm afraid to try to put it back in!! haha Hopefully 5 months was long enough so it isn't closed up already!! L2 :) |
