Title: Never aske before, but need some vibes ... Post by Kris_in_SJ on Mar 6th, 2005, 8:50pm My sweet daughter Emily (now 21 and a new graduate in Medical Massage Therapy) had surgery for idiopathic scoliosis back when she was 13. At the time, it was "cutting edge" anterior correction with 1 short rod. At 16 - her final checkup, all was well and she was considered a classic "success story." Long story short - she's been having upper back pain, chest pain and a noticeable deformity again, getting worse over te past 6 months. Her x-rays now show a 32 degree curve just above where her rod ends. We now have a 2-month wait to see her surgeon in Chicago, and I'm having visions of another horrible surgery to come for her that might mean giving up the career she's chosen and loves. As a mother, this is tearing my heart out!! No responses needed ... please just send up a little prayer or vibe for her please. Thank you, my family! Kris |
