Title: need some vibes guys Post by athos on Mar 5th, 2005, 10:34am Sorry i have bgeen absent for awhile... I am back I have been staying with my grandparents in Ut while I find a house here... They are in their 80's. Grandma had a stroke several years ago and is like a 6 year old... Grandpa just had major back surgery last november and has been struggeling to take care of both of them. He had a stroke last night, I am doing my best to take care of Grandma, but she is upset and worried.... I am in an odd situation.. He is more of a father to me than my bio-father - sperm doner ever was... I lived with them for many years as their child. My superman has been delt a mighty blow. thanks.... PS... I should be moving into my own place again soon... I think we have one finalized and thigns should get back to normal. |

Title: Re: need some vibes guys Post by pattik on Mar 5th, 2005, 10:47am Athos, You're in a tough situation. I'm watching my 87 year old mother slowly deteriorate, and I think, as a caretaker, the best you can do is your best. Take some comfort from that. Your superman is still a major part of your life even if it's his turn to be needy. Maybe it's just your turn to be the superman. Keep your chin up. [smiley=hug.gif] pattik (Pat) |

Title: Re: need some vibes guys Post by Redd715 on Mar 5th, 2005, 11:51am Yes Ken I have the same issues as I am DPOA for my Mother who had no mind left to speak of, and I watch her deteriorate in mind and body. Tables turn and the child becomes the parent. It's the way of life. Be strong my friend. It's your turn to be the rock now. Luv ya! |

Title: Re: need some vibes guys Post by Cathi04 on Mar 5th, 2005, 12:44pm Ken, I know it is hard on you, but you're likely sooo appreciated. What a wonderful thing to be able to give back to these people who gave you so much. Unfortunateely, we are the sandwich generation...caught between caring for our children, and taking care of our elders as we watch them move closer to the end of the line. I, too, am dealing with this. My Mom needs a lot of care, and she will not be getting better...we are losing her. Just make those memories, Ken, enjoy your time with them........oh, and enjoy this new job.... You have my vibes and well-wishes, always..... Cathi |

Ah, yes Utah, where you can walk to the store, 1 mile away and back without getting heat-stroke or die of exposure. where the ambient temperature, is more than slightly less than that of the Sun. No Space suit required to reach the mailbox on the curb. Grass actually grows there too...methinks ;) Peace ... Ramon |
