Title: KimH is in the hospital.....HIT BAD!!! Post by E-Double on Feb 26th, 2005, 2:13pm I knew things were ramping up...LAst weekend her hubby called me and I ran with a "gift" Week went by with typical rollercoaster of hits and yesterday evening I get a call....It was bad....Mom was going to bring her to the hospital.... I ran over to help....got her on a tank.... Brought it down a notch and then battled up and down for a few hours.... Appeared to be finally ok....Apparently not....middle of night had to be taken to the hospital and has been there since....checked in.... Spoke to Peppermint and she's coming out here to check on her and the family as well. I don't ever ask for more than advice or the occasional ear.....but send something for "ole blackfoot"....Hugs, prayers , whatever.... PF wishes to all!!! Eric |

Post by kimh on Feb 26th, 2005, 6:54pm Evenin darlings*** It was a long nite (i'm sure many here now that hideous drill)...we got home half an hour ago. I have to comment that THIS time North Shore University Hospital new their stuff and everyone on staff was absolutely fantastic in their efforts to give proper ch treatment. The o2 was RITE there and both docs and staff were awsome! Doc administered imitrex injection. I am amazed that not once during my visit was it necessary for me to pitch a kimfit :D Also, a lady neuro came in to see me and introduced hereself and gave me her card. i liked this lady immediately and will be speaking to her in the future. She got on the phone with my neuro in Manhattan and they troubleshooted together. She actually works with a NYC radio station here. Not only was she smart and personable - she was FUNNY and well, that just clinched it for me***What a difference when we receive the care we both need and deserve! I think i finally learned some tough lessons. It's just plain DUMB that i continue to think in a "denial" form where my illness is concerned and i FINALLY took that huge kick in the ass that WOKE my ass up to reality. Unacceptable that i wait till RED ALERT to start taking proper steps so that i'm prepared for these times. So, no more tap dancing through clusters for kimmers. Gotta be ready to fite fire with fire! A lot of you have met Eric (E-Double) here on line, but few have had the honor to meet him in person. He is a special guy with the heart of a lion who has gone way out on a limb to help others at the drop of a hat. I wish we all had a friend and supporter like Eric in our lives. E, i sure hope you and Joanna are having a great evening tonite and i'm so lucky to know you*** I hope one day i'll be able to give you the kind of friendship and support you've shown me! Thank you all for being here and offering your words of strength and support. It's hard to put words to adequately express how much it means to me. I can't wait for the opportunity to meet each and every one of you and give yas SUUUUUCH a hug :-* To all who are having a go with "yewnowhew" we will get through it and better days are coming*** KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: Don: I want pictures. Yankee hat and no flippin the bird ;;D Love you all :) You guys don't know Brian (my hubby). We've been married 15 years and he has never left my side in good times and bad. ...............he looks a lil stressed tonite. He made sure the kids were all taken care of and was with me all through nite and this afternoon. He looks tired and worried. Our supporters go through their own special hell too*** It's one thing to do personal battle within ourselves, but i can't imagine how it is for our loved ones to walk RITE through that hell with us each and every time. Special soul and Joanna is a lucky girl! And he's lucky to have her, too I'm sure! :) I'm also really glad you did okay in the ER and they knew what they were doing!!! They've always known what to do for clusters at TJUH ER here except for a couple of small things. Nurses have the ability to throw 2L nasal cannula O2 on anyone without an order (until they can get one) so I've had nurses force me into the nasal cannula until I tell them to get out of my face! Then another time I had an attending do a neuro exam while I was in the middle of a CH attack, and I was waiting for the O2 to be connected. He's lucky that I like him as a doctor and I didn't want to punch him in the face! haha Glad it worked out for ya! Hugz, Lizzie :) |
