Title: computer gurus help requested
Post by blossom on Feb 20th, 2005, 11:17am
I need to find out if there is any way I can search my computer a history of websites and things that have been viewed.  I am completely computer illiterate.  I know I can click the history button and it will show me the history for today but I need to go back several months.  Can anyone help me?

Beyond looking at the temporary internet files, I'm not sure. And someone who doesn't want to be caught can always delete those. There's a way to get into the hard drive and see, but I don't know that way. For now...go to Tools...Internet Options...Temporary Internet Files...Settings...View files.

Can I call you Blondie now?  ;;D

Hey Blondie  ;;D:

IF you didn't save the site as a favorite, I would agree with Nani on checking out the temporary internet files.  But i'm no guru, calling on the guru's!

Do what Nani said.  When you view them you can sort them by date also to make it easier.

do you run any firewall software?  Cause if you do, it will have logs that also show site addresses.  Also, you can check the ip addresses of stored cookies in you temporary internet files...click on tools/internet options/settings/then view files.
