Title: New celebrity kid
Post by sandie99 on Feb 20th, 2005, 8:10am
Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz... You got to love the imagination of The Beckhams when it comes to naming their kids! ;;D
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/02/20/beckham.baby.reut/index.html

I have to wonder, though, would have the third kid would have been still called Cruz if it had been a girl...?
Maybe. Who knows what David & Victoria Beckham were thinking anyway. [smiley=huh.gif]

But if I would be a celebrity, my kids would have normal names....  ;)
Boring, perhaps, but at least my kids would not be bullied because of weird names! ;;D

Have a great day, everyone!

Sandie

After working for years in the healthcare industry and seeing THOUSANDS of names...here are a few of my favorites.  And YES these are all real people.

Harry Assman was a marketing client of mine a few years back..

Twins (named off of the menu at Parkland Hospital) pronounced  Ah-rahn-ja-low and La-mahn-ja-low

Orangejello and Lemonjello

nother lady named her daughter Chlamydia and yet another named her kid (pronounced pa-juh-may) Pajama courtesy of the Sears and Ro bucks catalog....

I went to school with two girls...one named Susan Screws and another named Penny Nichols

and then of course you have the famous sisters...Ima and Ura Pigg...

Those are just a few....

You rookies and your foolishness. You need to grow up in a _Real_ ethnic area....... Rocco Petrocco, Eda Ardaleno, Colin Colonica.......
Still, it's good to know the miracle of childbirth is alive and well. Little cabbages are thunking their way into the hovels of the world, at an increasingly alarming rate. We must nurture, cherish, and protect these children...till they turn 18 and we can teach them how to blow the shit out of the rest of the world. Progress, the flower of humanity.

Those who know your swedish know that my name "sanna" is actually a word in your language! ;;D

Actually, I am grateful to my folkes... They gave me 3 names - so 3 name days! (One of them is tomorrow.)
And yes, my family celebrates name days, too. Nothing too much, though. My mum makes it hard, though. Her name day (first name, that is) is same as her birthday...

My daughter-in-law's name is Saumber (pronounced somber).  [smiley=confused.gif]  She and my son named my grand daughter Sahara.   [smiley=nono.gif]

When I was growing up, down in Louisiana, my cousin brought a cat home one day.  My uncle named it Target then took it out and shot it.   [smiley=JAW_DROP.gif] After a month or so, another cat started hanging out at their house.  This cat was smart.  He knew who he had to kiss up to.  He would just kind of hang out around my uncle or jump up in his lap and demand attention from him.  My uncle named him Bullet.  Last time I talked to him, they still had that cat.

I went to school with a Stormy Weather and an April Flowers and, the cream of the crop, a Robin Cocain. And I dated a girl named Holiday Ham.

But keep in mind that we named our daughter Kaisa-Tinúviel Chiana, so I should not throw too many stones.

My middle name isn't goofy, but I got mine because my mum thought I looked cheerful. And one Finnish synynym to cheerful is spelled almost like my middle name... ::)

Kaisa - Finnish form of Katherine. Roman derivative of the Greek katharos, "unstained with the guilt of anything, clean, pure, blameless, innocent".

Tinúviel - Sindarin from of the Quenyan tinnúviel, literally "[sparkling] daughter of twilight" from tin- "sparkle", tinta- "to kindle, cause to sparkle", sel-d- "daughter", Noldorin -iel(l) [as a feminine ending], a poetic word for "nightingale".

Chiana - Derived from the ancient Hebrew name Channah which means "favour" or "grace".  The Jewish version is Hannah, the Latin version is Anna.

I would not choose a name without meaning behind it. Words and meanings are very important to me.

Back in the 50s after Sputnik and all the flying monkies and pooches; someone from Cincinnati, named a baby: Orbit.   :o

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Subject: The New Baby

Bubba's sister is pregnant and is in a bad car accident, which

caused her to fall into a deep coma. After nearly six months,

she awakens and sees that she is no longer pregnant.

Frantically, she asks the doctor about her baby.

The doctor replies, " Ma'am, you had twins - a boy and a girl.

The babies are fine.  Your brother came in and named them."

The woman thinks to herself, "Oh, no! Not Bubba; he's an idiot!"

Expecting the worst, she asks the doctor, "Well, what's the girl's

name?"  "Denise," the doctor answers.

The new mother thinks, "Wow! That's a beautiful name! I guess I was

wrong about my brother. I really like the name Denise."

Then she asks the doctor, "What's the boy's name?"

The doctor replies, "Denephew."

Watch it, kid..! Now you are stepping on ethnic and cultural toes. >:( That is a very common name among many Spanish and Portuguese speaking peoples. Jesus is merely an anglicized variant of Iesous, which was the Greek form of the Aramaic name Yeshua. From Yeshua we also get Joshua. Not so odd, now is it?

Went to school with :

Stephen King and Nancy Drew

My Neighbour......Pete Moss

My Sister in law....Anita Nichol..if you say it fast, sounds like "I need a nickle"

And this guy from Regina, whom i've actually met...

Dick Assman

Quote:
Dick Assman In the age of the television talk show, some people become "famous’’ for nothing more than their names. Assman, a Regina gas-station operator, got his 15 minutes of fame a few years back when David Letterman made him a household name across North America.

Hi Donna!

I've been fine (no Autumn cycle, yippeeeee!) but dog and mother haven't been too clever (all Ok now but it wasn't good for a while) and Helpline has been busy so I had that "not enough hours in the day" patch of life.

Have nipped in here every now and then but not really had the time to post

Love
