Smart way to get results Lee.  Use a strange name with the partial word "lunes" in it, coupled with the words, "way off" and "out there", the answer quickly falls into the realm of Donland.  Nine minute reply, the sharpest tack lost in the carpet still, definitely hasn't lost a step.

he even found Lost Vegas, the bright lights of Saline, Kansas couldn't fool him.

After you got your answer Lee, the new DSL Don requires some drunken sailor language.

Tylenol PM, Excedrin PM, Temazepam, Halcion, Ambien and Sonata haven't worked for shit.  Seroquel worked for a little while, but my body got used to it even up to 400mg.  I can't wait to see how this Lunesta works.  Gonna get my PCP to prescribe it next week.

Main hold back will be price.  Sonata cost me almost $90 for 30 pills.  If this new one is as good as it's write up, I'll probably have to sell my soul to the devil to afford it.

BillyJ, keep us posted on how/whether it works for you.

Dam.....I have a doc appointment comein up (my annual visit.....not anal)......I'd heard there was a new med advertised simialr to ambien and was gonna ask about it. I have taken ambien for 3 years now......chronic insomnia SUCKS. Am goin thru a spell now where I do not want to go to bed....I dread it.....I would stay up all nite till I keeled over (usually around 4:30 am for me I run outa brain cells to function longer) but Brad gets mad I stay up so late as it is and gives me sum shit off and on. Don't take ambien and try on new makeup......you'll wake up lookin like a clown ! Or don't let the late nite craveings get to you if you take it and DON'T go to bed like me.......you'll wake up in a sea of crumbs and paper wrappers. Opps I did it again dam it Pam

Stuff sorta puts you in a hypnotic trance of sorts if ya take it and stay up long.....whatever ya think of doin you may overdo.....I've fallen over before and startled myself as I hit the floor. I fight it....I hate bedtime !

PS: Is it cheaper then ambien......my last script ran me bout $ 60.00 cuz it's not got a generic and my insurence likes generic. So they paid $ 7.00 I think....grand total was bout $ 67.00. That sure adds up a MONTH ! Does the other have a generic.....prolly not. Jus gettin the facts Pam

I too have had no success with Ambian so was reading this thread with interest.  Noticed the reference to SALINA, Kansas, big lights and so forth.  called my trusty Wal-Mart pharmacist and was assured she could have it for me by Tuesday.  So we may be out here in the sticks ( ok, so you have to have to have trees to have sticks) but we can play with the big boys when it comes to gettin' it done.  Luckily my hubby has good insurance so the most it will cost is $ 35 which is nothing compared to the $ k's already spent trying to get relief from the beast and a few hours of blessed sleep.  I see my doc the 12th.  Will report success(wishful thinking).

Walgreen's in Tulsa got it in yesterday, we will see how it stacks up against Ambien.

Lee

1st night didn't do a thing, it took ambien a few days to work for me also.

Here's sum facts about it I read:

Unlike some other sleep aids, Lunesta helps you sleep all through the night with fewer interruptions.

AND
Lunesta does not lose its effectiveness over time as shown in a 6-month study.

AND

Lunesta is the first and only prescription sleep aid approved for long-term use.

Sounds very similar to amiben.....but I jus don't fall asleep very fast on it....I used to.....gotta doc apt this week and may ask about it. Ambien is better then nothin for me and doesn't leave me GROGGY or OUT OF IT the next day which is one reason I take it. I don't wanna sleep thru a tornado or burglary tho Pam

Cool.......ambien wasn't ment for long term.......it still works for me sumwhat but I take it and won't go to bed half the time. Is it cheaper then ambien....since there is no generic for ambien I pay almost the full amount and am sure it'll be the same if I get this new med. Sleep fighter Pam
