Title: Origami
Post by Langa on Feb 16th, 2005, 12:12pm
My boss usually brings his department of 5 women, including me, little gifts from wherever he goes on business.  For example, last month he went to Paris and bought us little mini perfume holders. This month he went to Japan and we were waiting for him at the door for our gifts... ;;D

He bought us Origami Mobiles...the detail on them is pretty impressive...he had me choose first...I chose this one... :D

I'm always impressed with origami. It's amazing. I can't even make a paper airplane.  :-/
Those are beautiful.

Origami is so cool... My wife and daughter make all sorts of stuff... Since I am a walking disaster, I can't make ANYTHING but a big wadded up mess.

But I am looking at these, lately: http://www.loehle.com/ (and yes, they are real aircraft)

Cool! 8)

When someone at my mum's office goes somewhere they must buy stuff, too. But in their case it's only candy.

When my brother was about 10 he took up origami. As his little brother, I naturally wanted to do what he did, so I got started at a very young age. I used to spend hours at a time doing it. I've still got the box of papers and foil that I used; just came across it in the garage the other day, in fact! I really like making origami out of money, and leaving the tips at restaurants as little boots or elephants or cranes.

Like this elephant I just did:

Fun, fun!

The Japanese lady I work with tried to teach me how to make an origami bird...the thing looked like something that resembled a frog... :-[

Let's just say we're the only department in the company without a morale issue.   ;;D

Cool story Hirvi...the waitresses/waiters must get a kick out of their tips when they see it.  :D
