Title: Re: Music Post by medic1852 on Feb 15th, 2005, 11:26am I love music as well. It has helped me through a lot of tough times in my life. I use it to study by, it helped me study when I was in Paramedic school. I always wanted to learn to play an insturment. So I decided to take up guitar. I bought one and a book and am self teaching myself. I have some freinds who know how to play and they are helping me. So far all know now are some chords and my fingertips are really sore! Now I am just pissed cause I cant pick my nose! |

Title: Re: Music Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Feb 15th, 2005, 11:34am Playing a musical intrument is a great way to spend your free time. Playing guitar and drums since I was 10 is what kept a "bad" kid from turning into a "really bad, rotten, good for nothing, juvinile delinquint" kid. ;;D medic... Keep it up with the lessons and practice. Before you know it, there will be thick enough callouses on your fingers that it won't bother you any more. And once those callouses get built up, they are rough enough to actually assist you with the nose picking thing. [smiley=crackup.gif] |

Title: Re: Music Post by PrettyH8Machine on Feb 15th, 2005, 11:51am I am a music JUNKIE!!! Been playing drums since I could hold sticks and reach the bass drum pedal. Playing guitar since age 10, prp guitar by 15 and started playing bass...started playing piano & keys by 18...started singing at 24... Have recorded over 100 songs by myself (not including the stuff I have done with other bands) and almost got to tour with the band "Anthrax" as lead guitarist, but became chronic with CH shortly beforehand. That would have been a sweet gig too. Just one of the many things clusters robbed me of. That's okay. It is a new day, and I will get my revenge against the beast! [smiley=headbanger.gif] |

Title: Re: Music Post by sandie99 on Feb 15th, 2005, 11:57am Oh, I LOVE music! :) I grew up with classical music, then I loved rock, then pop, then country, then rock and now I love country again... :) The music I listen to reflects me and the mood I'm in. Lately I have listened to Gretchen Wilson. You can hear clips of her songs at her website: http://www.gretchenwilson.com/ |

I've been a musician since I was 10 and if I had a medical condition that would stop me from performing properly, I would cancel the gig and give refunds to ticket holders. I loathe anyone who goes on stage and plays tapes for ANY reason. The acidosis thing is no excuse for faking it on stage. |

Title: Re: Music Post by Frank_W on Feb 15th, 2005, 2:39pm I played trumpet from 5th grade until I graduated high school, and still pick it up occasionally. Then I taught myself guitar and I've played that for 15 years, filled in on bass when I had a band and the bassist didn't show, and I've been taking piano lessons for the past couple of years. Oh yeah: I sing, too. |

OK. You asked for it. ;;D Here's a bunch of really boring guitar playing from me in B flat and A on various guitars. There are also some guest appearances from my daughter Mackenzie. I was playing along with a track. [smiley=eek5.gif] But that's ok if you let people know your intentions. It may get a little repetitive and boring since it's pretty long. I'm practicing the same thing over and over again. Getting ready for this years contest. http://www.kashmirchicago.com/Pat/playinguitars2.wmv |

The other one, a woman, wanted to know if you're married. LOL. I think you have some fans, including me...Thanks for sharing. Langa |

Title: Re: Music Post by nani on Feb 16th, 2005, 10:42am Wow Pat!! I loved it! Thanks. Mackenzie is too cute...I liked it when she was singing at the end and earlier when she was twirling around with her hands over her ears...LOL Kids are funny. I love to sing (I can't sing, but I love to) My kids always ask me to not sing because I ruin all the songs they like! My 11yo once said...I remember how you always used to sing for us when we were little. I liked it a lot. When I hear you now, it kinda ruins the happy memory. :-/ Music...it's a good thing. :) |

Title: Re: Music Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Feb 16th, 2005, 10:45am I am very flattered by the compliments. I really enjoy playing and if others enjoy it, it makes it even better. Sure, you can check out some of my 4 track cassette recordings by going to the link below. The link to song 1 - The World Behind is messed up, but the rest play fine. I wrote and played everything on these songs: Drums, bass guitars, rhythm & lead guitars, and all vocals (the keyboard-sounding intro/outro to "Sleeper" is all guitar, no keyboards were used on any of these recordings. Hopefully the next Former disc will have better sound quality - if I can ever get the stuff I need to record with again. I have a million ideas I'd like to get out of my head and into peoples ears. Anyways, heres some of my solo stuff here. http://www.xdup.com/former/former.html CD P.S. - I have a couple of other songs I want to post online, but I've been out of touch with Athos (who set up the mp3 page for me) and I have no idea how to get the songs into cyberspace so I can put a link to them here. One song I'd like to post is one of my faves, and was written & recorded within 3 hours times. Once I can get them online, I'll put a link up in here. ;) |

Title: Re: Music Post by sandie99 on Feb 17th, 2005, 11:36am I used to play the piano... but I never really got that good nor excited about it. I had bad teachers, which didn't help nor that it was my MOTHER who really wanted to play it in the first place. Well, soon she has the time to... But having said that, there are two songs which I still love to play - and can play by heart. When I go to visit mum, I occasionally play them. :) |
