Title: Vintage Games Post by BlueMeanie on Feb 13th, 2005, 1:54pm For those who grew up without computer games, what board games did you like to play ? I think the game of "Life" was one of my favorites. "Clue" was an awsome game too. Do people even play board games anymore ? |

Title: Re: Vintage Games Post by Kevin_M on Feb 13th, 2005, 11:49pm Monopoly could suck sometimes. Spend three turns in jail then get paroled to make it through the high rent district and get hit with a damn luxury tax on top of it. Shit, it could have been a Ouji board for all the hints it was giving me. I was just hoping to park cars at Free Parking anyway. Kevin M |

But we wiped out everyone and it came down to a battle between the two of us and we both hate to lose. He says I cheat when I get him to quit so that we can "Play" upstairs. I figure that is just good stratagy. ;;D) Played Life, Sorry, Trouble, Cribbage, Uno, 500 (Parents where card game fanatics) Got stuff so that we play with my kids at least once a week so that we dont zone on the TV every night. |

Title: Re: Vintage Games Post by Hirvimaki on Feb 14th, 2005, 4:23pm Scrabble, Clue, Master Mind, Battleship, Yahtzee!, and others... I hated video games growing up and I still dislike them. I've never owned a video game machine and I thought it terribly boring when I'd go over to friend's houses and they'd wanna play with the Atari and such. Plaah! The only "video" games I ever enjoyed were games like Zork. Hirvimaki-Isi Twister was a favorite, but that's when I was in high school and liked cheer leaders... |

Title: Re: Vintage Games Post by PrettyH8Machine on Feb 15th, 2005, 12:06pm Wow! I am reading this thread and shaking my head in disbelief... Monopoly was cool. Could always clean up in that game, but then I turned 11 and it was time to put away childish games and break out the hard stuff... DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS!!! My friends and I would go on 3 day binges of going through dungeons and such (I later became a 3rd level DM = Dungeon Master.) We were batteling Orcs, Minotaurs and Michlantektulu while all the other kids were still trying to work their Rubicks cube. We'd play for 2 or 3 days straight through while drinking, cussing and smoking and cranking up Rush, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin and Black Sabbath (we were delinquents, HA!) and the rules of the game anytime I was dungeon master was - if you fell asleep during the game, you would be attacked and killed by wild animals, and everybody would split up your belongings. We were savages and bastages! *snif* those were the days. Peace, CD |
