If you get a chance go to a restaraunt called Quaker Steak and Lube.  They have what's called "Atomic" chicken wings, you literally have to sign a release form in order to get them served to you.  :o  They are THAT hot.  I had six of them last night.  ;;D  


Edit to add, 150,000 scoville units is what they are rated at.  A hot jalepeno is about 5000 scoville units.  ;;D

The best part was going to the bathroom, they had warning signs up that read "We strongly recommend that atomic wing eaters wash their hands BEFORE using the restroom." [smiley=laugh.gif]

LOL! In Japan, Mari and I were coming down the mountain after snow skiing, and stopped at a roadside stand that sold corndogs. I got two of them, and they had a big squeeze bottle of mustard. (I assumed it was American mustard, so I drowned my corndogs and we got back on the road) Fortunately, Mari was taking a turn at driving because I bit into my corndog and found out that the mustard was actually "karashii," which is the FIERY HOT Chinese mustard!! Madre dios!! I couldn't breathe for about ten minutes.... All I could manage was a rasping, wheezy sort of gasp. (But I ate both of them. They were pretty damn good, once I got over the shock!)  [smiley=laugh.gif]

He's not kidding......stopped at one in Erie,PA one night. I had them bring me a sample......I couldn't eat it. Spicey battery acid is what it is..... ;;D

Whew! Nothing that wouldn't require an overnight trip to get there!  Thank goodness - i was already having nightmares about being dragged to this place!

My S/O SWEARS he makes the hottest, best wings in the world!

Too bad we'll be driving through areas where this place can be found in a couple of months.

I actually found it mildly amusing that they're building one in Buffalo, NY though  ;;D

(hey - anyone ever eat the green stuff that looks like avocado on the sushi plate - all by itself?  :o )

There's a medical name for that type of carelessness: Hunan Hand Syndrome - in honor of the first Szechuan Chef that had to learn things the hard way.  Ordinarily just irritation, but sensitive tissue sometimes blisters in response to really hot pepper.

We once brought a friend to eat sushi and when he saw the green stuff, he thought it WAS guacamole and ate the whole thing before we could stop him.  He spent the rest of dinner in the bathroom.

As with so many things, there's wasabi, Wasabi, and WASABI. The real, fresh stuff from the land of rice is nothing to fool with. But that's besides the point.

I love Chili! The only way it is good is if you get just a little sweat on your forehead. Just enough to know it is there. I use deer meat in my chili, not ground chunks also noodles is a no no.

If it won't remove at least 5 coats of paint, it is NOT a pepper. My favorite place to eat is a little Thai restaraunt down the street from me.

When they see me come in the door, they get out extra Thai chiles and Habaneros.
