Title: I Survived!!!!! Post by Wendy1 on Feb 8th, 2005, 10:49pm (Re: Below) I survived my spinal fusion, it was great! However, I still have the f.... h/a!!! I had one ALLL day before, ended up in ER the night before. Had one waiting in preop - dozed off waiting for surgery and BAM woke with one. Incredibly the nurse said, 'whatdya need?'. So on top of my versed I had a shot of demerol. This is so screwed up. Here I am having major surgery and I'm having to explain these freakin things to these ppl. I brought my 'non rebreather' with me, seeing no one seems to know what they are in the medical field. Had one h/a in the hospital and several since I've been out. God help me get through these things. I have another 'Cluster Headache horror story' to tell that happened last weekend when I'm up to it. Just wanted to let all of you know that I'm doing great, just trying to survive these h/a. Sure hope they straighten up before my deposition next week on my mother's wrongful death suit. Isn't life grand!! PFND to all! :) ------------------------------------------------------------ RE: As if I'm not in enough pain already (having back surgery ~ spinal fusion ~ Wednesday), the beast has chosen this special time to reappear after 2 yrs. I cannot understand this! I know stress precipitates my cycles, but never in January!... I've been fighting him bad for 1 1/2 weeks and have not even been able to get to the computer. I have been stinkin miserable. I am so depressed that my h/a are back. I only pray that by the grace of God, this surgery will knock my cycle out of whack. Any input about this? Anywho... things really suck right now. Been sleeping sitting up, Verapamil 360 twice daily, O2, you know the game. Had one at midnight and 6 a this morning. Gosh, isn't life grand. Now where was I ~ Oh yeah, wish me luck Wednesday. I'm told I can expect a 3-5 day stay. I will try to let you all know how I'm doing and whether the surgery did anything for my cycle. Until then, I'll pack my bags, O2 mask included with script for O2, juustt in case there's any questions. Love you all, You're the best. Wendy |
