Title: Re: Whitewater river runnin Post by Biker on Feb 5th, 2005, 1:25pm Pizza delivery is most likely available. If not, theres a pizza parlor just out the holler. No need to pack a bunch of food, just pack bucks. I (as an a old, way to old to raft, guide) found that a boat load of women had much more fun than a boat load of men. Males tend to fight the current, women seem to learn quicker and realize to go with the flow is more enjoyable. I use to prefer a mixed group of hims and hers. The hers would calm down the hims, and everyone had a hoot. Men wanted to fight the water, and women tended to enjoy the water. For the agressive attitudes, there is an "extreme" trip available. Instead of the comfort of a 16 foot raft, the folks may wish an 8ft. raft. The only thing better than gettin wet, is getting wetter!!!!!!!!!!! On June 4th, there may be those who wish to swim. Wetsuits will be offered for rent. Most folks who rented the wetsuits tended to tie them to the boat. It becomes right difficult to relieve the bladder with a wetsuit on. Cottin clothes (t. shirts, levies, ect.) tend to make ya cold when your wet. Your better off neked----your skin dries quicker. Wool sweaters are better, and poly proplinene is best. Silk is my favorite, but my silk wife left years ago. I cannot afford that---Poly Pro is the way to go. Sleeping bags. Your gonna need the sleeping bag. My hopes are for no rain that weekend. Otherwise, I will be looking for a poarch to spread my sleeping bag under. I suppose I could take the Van to the river, but am counting on riding the bike. |
